Goodness, I am getting slack with the diary lately. Still not had time to see how much has been paid off the debts in the last few months
I have orders a few Xmas bits today with some discount codes of coursedd has a life size cardboard cutout of zachary quinto as Spock on the way
plus a few art cards of their favourite films ordered so I can mount them in frames to go in the new bedrooms. I found a great american website that does unusual Xmas cards, Dalek /Sherlock that type of thing, plus a couple of presents for friends kids, its not from t he £10 a day budget though as Xmas presents are not included. Just trying to chip away at the huge list I have to buy for again this year.

I've had lots of fun this afternoon on the op calculator
Not much has been paid off the balance we owe in the last couple of months only less than 1k in total
On the plus side the car insurance renewal came in at £100 less than expected, plus after comparing I managed to knock another £25 off. Rang the current ins provider who would not price match, so now I have the hassle of changing.
Anyway if I start working for dh properly (ie paid) next year , I am hoping to get around £600 pm take home , not a massive wage , but a lot to me and it will make a big difference.:T
So I've decided to keep £330 pm for food from dh's wages and change the mortgage from IO back to repayment over 12 yrs from January.
The 0% cc's will still run and I will pay the balance renewal fee each time out of my wages as it should not be too much. So the plan is:
Change mortgage (£145,952) to repayment in jan over 12 yrs (£1228 pm)
Leave 25k loan running (have transferred £9134 to 0%cc)
Loan ends early (due to op) in April 2017
Snowball £368 loan payment pm to mortgage from may 2017
Carry on paying 0% cc's as current levels plus an extra £15pm (total £174pm)
Op £280 pm from my new wages
Everything is due to be completely cleared in July 2021 which was always my mfw date at the start as its my twins 21st birthdays that month
I means using the zero balance accounting method with dh's wages , ie. £330 for food the rest mortgage and direct debits and then having around £ 320 pm for everything else from my wages left over.
It seems rather tight but worth a try!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

The boys are off school today (teacher training day) and as they have spent all their pocket money on a new video game , I have a feeling they will be playing them most of the day.
I spent today's food budget last night in ald* on bits and bobs ,and have just realised that today I need to pay £10 for a new oyster card for dd and buy a new school apron for ds1 who accidentally threw it out with his old bag. So it seems I am already dipping into the weekend's £10 a day budget.
A dig through the freezers and meal plan is the best idea as I will be tempted to go to the frozen food shop and buy a few day bits to shove in the oven as we have a busy weekend ahead.
I need to read the meters as well, its not been done for aaages and now I'm a bit nervous, although the heating has not been on yet the kids still spend hours in the shower everyday, its a constant battle!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
This weekend is going be spent painting, although the loft room has a couple of weeks until its finished , the plastering is done so we may as well start white washing the dry bits as it will need a few coats . The hallway needs decorating as well now, and it looks like dh will be at work every weekend after this one until the end of the year ( unpaid of course!) so although he needs a rest has has said he will help with the painting today, what a star.:D
Last night we had a veggie lasagne, braised red cabbage and a buttery leek and courgette mix. Tonight is leftover frozen chicken curry from my parents (they have just started freezing casseroles/curries etc. in a tub for dh to have rather than throwing it away :T )chickpea and spinach curry and a veggie one.
Tomorrow we are having pizza from the frozen food shop, I did cave in and go yesterday but spent under £10 as we needed a couple of bits , but at least I won't have to spend time cooking Sunday. The plan is to stop work Sunday afternoon and have pizza in front of a film.
Off to start painting, although dh is in bed still so will be in no rush to join meMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
