Hi newgirly! I'm sure we didn't do masses of coats on our loft walls - I think we did a 'seal' on the bare plaster of thinned down cheaper white paint and then painted in the colours we were using

Hope DH doesn't wear himself out - and it must make it hard on you too xx

Hi greent, thanks for that I will try and persuade dh to do the same :D
We have just been to the big orange DIY store to "look" at tiles, and have bought all the floor/wall tiles plus some more paint. They were doing 20% off tiles this weekend if you sign up to their club card which they let me do at customer services. All in all a £141 spend, for cream glossy tiles for the floor and shower cubicle and contrasting beige/brown/cream mosaic for a small border. Not my usual style as our main bathroom is high gloss floor and mirrored black mosaic and white but I thought a change would be nice.

Dh and I don't work well together painting, its Not the fun romantic thing it once was when we were moving in our first flat together, now its us moaning at each other that the other is doing it wrong :rotfl: so I quit and started varnishing the dresser in the hallway, its been half done for a year now, its now pale pink with a walnut top to it. Also the coffee table has been given a quick coat and looks like new. :D

Today I'm letting dh continue the painting alone..... Cruel :D and I'm gong to spend the day getting on top of all the washing/ironing/meal planning for the week ahead with a bit of cleaning thrown in.

If everything is done today I should be able to be more organised in the week , and hopefully spare a day or two to start painting my current bedroom (which dd is having soon) I find being unorganised ends up with a lot of procrastinating on my part. :o

    To do list for Sunday:

    Strip and change all beds
    Clean bathroom
    Clean boys' room
    Clean our room
Get dd to clean her own room :p
Meal plan for week and make shopping list
If time buy food on list
Visit gran at mums house for coffee
Eat pizza and watch film :T

Off to start with the beds, hope everyone is having a good weekend!

  • Wow you have a busy day ahead. Look forward to hearing how you get on. When will your loft conversion be completed. Bet you can't wait to start moving all the furniture about. All that extra space will make so much difference. Look forward to reading all about it.

You did well skint spice :T

Today dd is at home and about to go off to the doctors again soon, I think its a reoccurring water infection. She doesn't seem to bad though as she was dancing around her bedroom last night at 11pm :D

The builders have not turned up today, they did not come last week as the plasterer was here, but I assumed they would be back Monday to start with the final fittings, we will see.

I think I will do a bit of painting today but as we need to do the loft, 3x bedrooms and the hallway /stairs /landing I don't know where to start. The bedrooms will be difficult as it means painting whilst everything is in the way, but if I start in the loft hallway and the builders turn up i will be I the way, decisions decisions!
