Sounds like the wine was well deserved, maybe you should have bought a barrel;)
I think movie day sounds great. Our sprogs are too little at the moment to all have the attention span to sit through a film nicely without the experience being very stressful for all concerned. It will be great when they are a little older though and is something we look forward to. I think it sounds a fab way to spend the day.
I am working today so we did Father's Day last weekend and went for a very short walk/toddle in the peak district with a flask of coffee, a flask of hot choc and a cake picnic.
We sat in a field with a great view and a lot of sheep and had a lovely family time.
Do people really spend £60 on Father's Day presents?? When we were little we got my dad a bar of fruit and nut chocolate:)Jan 2013-£140,231.65

My husband is getting a rare lie in. My Dad is getting horse manure and a bottle of homebrew.0

Thanks everyone, its not just me being too sensitive then
Fothers, your day sounds perfect something you remember enjoying rather than just presents you forget, even more important when you have kids.
Alchemical, the manure made me giggle , how are you wrapping that ?:rotfl:
Dh (and the kids) will probably have a long lie in today, we have got him 2 big bars of whole nut and a some ale  lunch is party food and cake. Might try and pop out for a walk this morning to the nearest country park with the dog, but my lot are not that keen on walks now, its "boring"!
My dad is on holiday at the moment so has already opened his present and taken his card with him.
Hope everyone has a lovely dayMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

I am a good MIL. Just so grateful that any woman would take on my sons.....Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

I am sure I will feel like that too when the time comes :rotfl:
We have had a good day, a walk around the local country park and look around the farmers market there, then me and dh popped to a pub nearby for a drink, then home for lots of junk food and the new die hard movie (which was a bit pants actually! ) glad I didn't see it at the cinema like we had wanted to.
10p op made today and yesterday.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Not sure why I am up way too early this morning, i thought I would do a quick list of jobs for today before starting the ironing:
1). Take granny out for a few hours as mum is away and she gets bored
2). Do virtually a weeks worth of ironing
3). All washing
4). Check/reconcile accts and make op
5).make bread
6). Make bean chilli portion and freeze
7). Clean and tidy our bedroom ( can't tell the kids off if mine is a mess!)MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I thought it was just me that was normally up at such an ungodly hour!
Sounds like a nice day yesterday and a busy day today. Good luck with ironing mountain, you are a better person than me. I iron once a year if that:oJan 2013-£140,231.65

On dear , I only did about half of my list yesterday
the beans are in to soak for a chilli today though if I add a bit of chopped up sausage will dh notice its not a "proper chilli"
I bought all the sweets for dd's party yesterday at £oundland and as*a we are just having a few savoury nibbles , crisps and a big sweetie buffet. I'm attempting to make a cake in a roasting tin as I've ordered a big oblong Star Trek icing topper from fleabay. No sweet 16girly stuff for her :rotfl:
Also bought some hairdye from £land for the first time and did my roots and cut my own hair yesterday  about 5 inches. It looks good if I do say so myself though, with long layers, friends will think I am bonkers for doing my own hair though, I know my mum pays well over £100 just for a root tough up with no trim in town, maybe I'm getting a bit too eccentric
Off to blitz the house, not sure if it is my turn to do girls lunch today and the house is a mess , plus will have to go and but bread and sandwich fillers.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
