oops , forgot the important bit :o

Dh is leaving the finances to me again, after lots of thought I have decided not to op the loan which is higher than the mortage. The reason is its not easy to do, letters and notice each time and I am slightly worried I won't do it some months as I don't have to. It would have also meant staying IO for a few more years which I am really not happy about.

So loan has 6 yrs 10 months left

I will change the mortgage back to repayment and put the term up to 20 yrs, new payment £831, I have also allowed another £100 pm for my living budget , as dd's bus fares to college will have to come from this too soon, so now I will get £600 pm all in.

This means I will have an excess of £200 pm for this new thing called saving that I am going to have a go at :D If anything goes wrong it will help and if not we will be able to have a cheap holiday next year.

It is probably not the most sensible plan, but covers all the things that have been worrying me a little - still being Io, not putting any money by etc.

It will be nice to see the odd month being knocked off the term when I can make op's and hopefully with a bit of effort I can still do the odd frugal month to make extra op's.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, we are off to the dogs tonight with a groupon deal.

We had a good night out at the dogs last night, although there were thousands of people with groupon vouchers like us so the food queue was half a mile long. I won two races but with a £1 max bet it was only a couple of pounds winnings.

This morning I took ds1 to a bootsale ar 6am, its one of the biggest in the country, so we were there 4 hours and only did half of it.The good news is I got a couple of things I have been looking for for a while, another 1960's ceramic hen egg holder (£3, they are £25 on flea bay :T) and an antique mirror for the hall for £4, I have seen these a lot before but usually for £30 ish even in charity shops, so a worth while trip.:D

Now I am shattered and can't be bothered to do much, I might pop to the frozen food shop and buy something easy to heat up for lunch.

It is always a great feeling to get things you were thinking of buying anyway at a great price!

Hi hun, you had a busy weekend!

I think you are really good at allocating your money to make it work for you. I wish I were half as organised. I think saving up is a good idea and an abroad holiday to look forward to next year would be nice - perhaps I could fit in a suitcase? ;)

Are you planning to keep your car boot finds or make a profit?
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

Well done on the car boot finds, I know you have been after one of those egg holders for a while. I am also impressed a few of you have sky for £5 as I've just rung up and stuck to my threats to leave and only got a downgraded package with 25% off! I did panic a little inside when he started to proceed with the cancellation

We did actually get a freesat recorder box thing and cancelled for a year. They kept sending stuff to get us back and we eventually got an all singing, all dancing entire package with sports and movies and things for the whole year for £20 a month I think. The year has just ended and we have down graded to the most basic package again.

We do not go out at all with having small kids in the evenings or anything so we decided just to keep the sky for now as it is our only treat really and we would need to buy stuff on box sets and then sell them on etc otherwise.

I am tempted to threaten to leave again and see what they do though! The freesat box we had kept missing the end off of recordings which was really annoying:mad: and most of the stuff we watch is on FOX and Atlantic that you don't get on freesat.

Sorry I have been so busy the last day or so I didn't see the posts that have been left.

I was just buying not selling at the boot sale and I am Definatly keeping what I bought not selling :p

Fothers I am with you on sky, I could not bear to get rid of it , we only have the basic package but I upgrade (usually half price) for three months over Xmas each year which is a nice treat too :D

I have just have a very nice sweet potato , spinach and tomato curry for dinner, too many bits are at risk of going off in the fridge so curry is usually the best way to deal with it. I don't think I have been for a big shop for at least a couple of weeks, I should get a bit more organised. I have been ,asking lots of veggie meals for the freezer, especially the fantastic ones on "a girl called jack" 's blog, virtually al receipes under 50p for a main course, often half that, I can't recommend it enough.

I have made 10p op's every day since the weekend, apart from today when it was a whopping £5 ! I have £100 left for the next 10 days plus a flashing petrol light :( out of dh's extra pay I splashed out on a garden set , 6 armchairs ,a big overhanging parasol and a glass table for about £139 plus delivery, I must have spent days over the last few weeks looking for the right set at the right price, but it looks good and arrived the today and I only ordered yesterday afternoon.

Anyway I am off to try and evict dd from her half hour power shower :D

I read that blog too- she has some great ideas on it for meals that you would actually want to eat. A lot of the other frugal blog recipes are things that I would never normally chose to eat if you know what I mean.

The curry sounds good! I sometimes make a similar butternut squash one for the same reasons and it freezes really well.

It sounds like you got a bargain with the patio set, I hope that you ordered some sunshine too and that the delivery for that will be equally prompt!

I know exactly what you mean - I used to look at Weezl's 'frugalised' recipes - but by the time all the herbs/spices etc were taken out all that was left with mush with one chicken leg between the whole street :o.

Aw, that is a lovely blog, hope her job is going well :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
