Hi Tilly and fothers, thanks for posting :D I don't have a m*rrisons nearby, but I did pop in mr s earlier today, there are a few bits I can get in there and not ald* like ginger, stock cubes etc. but in the main it was all a bit  passata n the cheaper shop is 29p a carton but in mr s was 69p per carton.

So I decided to try and muddle through instead, however I have accidentally spent loads today that I really shouldn't have  gr*upon had a special on a gym nearby £19 for 10 passes to be used over the next couple of months, swimming pool and all classes included, so I rang my best friend who also is trying to lose weight and she said let's go for it :j I really want to pay for hers too as she is taking me on another spa day including all the treatments as its buy one get one free and she will not take any money as it was her birthday present. So I need to find another £38 .

Dinner is a cheaply receipe again today, giant butter beans in garlic and tomatoes, dh has leftover goulash(sp?) and I made home made turkey nuggets for the kids for the first time , which went down really well, apparently they are better than the m&s chicken ones they had last time

Not much to report at the moment, have been seeing friends with kids most of the week so far, and doing the same again tomorrow. The budget is currently £10 a day until 24th may for everything, can't see this working out too well really but willing to give it a shot.

One thing I do need to start doing again is surveys, I HATE doing them , bit know I will really need the vouchers this year. Have still been making daily op's 10p a day for the last few days.

Off to make a loaf and work out what to feed the kids tonight, we are having homemade freezer meals.

It's horrid and wet here today, I can't believe its supposed to be the Easter holidays. Today we are seeing a friend and her dd, they did suggest the local shopping centre or town but I would prefer to stay in today really.

The vets rang last night, after the dog's very expensive op for bladder stones , thy sent them to America to be analysed, there is nothing sinister but suggest we go on a special vet supplied food. They are not sure exactly which food to try her on so will start her on one and test her urine weekly for a while. I love my dog, however I know how greedy they are there, my mum's friend has finally had her rabbit put to sleep after a few years of daily injections to keep it alive and thousands of pounds in fees.:(

I suppose I have to try the food at least, they have ordered it now, no idea how much it will cost though, but really not what I needed right now. I have no idea how people on a really low income manage long term, as its a night mare for a few weeks for me at the moment.

Thanks alchem, she is fine now. :)

Dd has been at school again today, and was really upset after that she will not get all her work one before exams :( she has been in every day but one this holiday, she really can't do any more.

She has no pressure from us , it's just hard to get her to chill out and take a break. I am hoping to force her to have a rest tomorrow, my little brother is taking the boys to the cinema , so we could have a girls movie day or go out some where. I feel like using that cc I am avoiding using and taking her out to get something nice to cheer her up. Hmm, what should I do ?

I'm glad your dog is on the mend.

Just my personal opinion but I wouldn't take a vets advice on what kind of food to feed. Most of them have very little nutrional training and the majority of foods they recommend will be ones they endorse/sell themselves. I would put money on the ingredients being rubbish too, lots of fillers and poor quality meat. Just my take on it, your best bet would be to make a post on the pet section of this forum or have a look around online for any other pet owners who's dog has had the same problem. If by any chance your vet's food is the one for you, have a check of the prices elsewhere - our vet is practically double the price for everything compared to online!

Hi Becky thanks for posting, I think you may be right I just feel a bit bamboozled in to it :o. I feel obliged to buy what they have ordered in already but will probably try and change or find it elsewhere after that. It's a shame but I really feel like the local vet practice is trying to squeeze us for as much as possible.

I remember my GCSE year, sooo stressful with a series of coursework, revision and exams but that Summer holiday felt like it went on forever! Hope she manages to have some time out. Could you watch a girly DVD together and have a mini pamper evening at home to keep costs down?

If your daughter was anything like me then she will only be thinking about the work she has to do while she is out. You might be better off trying to help her to structure her time and give her some nice frequent breaks.

I agree about the food from vets, I would have said i will look into it more before purchasing anything.
I know what you mean about having to spend loads on the dog, it makes you appreciate the nhs for the rest of us lol.

I worried like hell about my exams and revised loads, I tried to use a timetable which had breaks included but then i would not have the break and add it in later lol.
Maybe have a girly afternoon, chocs, make up, dvd, go out for a meal for two, quality time together.

As for surveys, I havent done them for a long time, tho it was nice to get the vouchers when they came in. I am just trying to finish onepoll as only couple quid off £40 (tho have been for a few months now) I just cant get my head into wanting to do them.
