That'd be a yes then

We have no plans to see anyone today so I'm gong to take the kids to see warm bodies at the cinema and let them have a look round the shops. I'm hoping all 3 will agree to go , there is usually one who does not want to, I used to take them nearly every week on my own when they were little to the kids club as dh used to work 7 days a week.
Last week I opened a second nationwide current acct, I am going to use it just like cash, no cc spending anymore, just £500 a month going in to cover everything we need to live and have fun, food/petrol/clothes/birthdays/holidays (for this year 1 night away probably:rotfl:)/ and entertainment budget/school trips. can't wait to use my new card, I might even transfer the last bit of this months money in so I can try it out

Well, we didn't make it to the cinema as only ds2 wanted to go in the end, so we went to Asda and bought lemony snickett which we have previously owned and lost, as often happens in our house.
I finally had a call from loft guy no. 1 which will be from 2 weeks ago Sunday, he is dropping the quote off tomorrow, still nothing from loft guy 2 from Friday. We have another guy coming round for a quote tomorrow who my dad has painting my parents bedroom at the moment, not too sure about that as loft company's don't usually do decorating jobs but did'nt feel I could say no as dad was with the guy when he rang me
I went to poundland today and bought 4 plastic troughs a bag of compost and a pack of seeds to grow 8 types of herbs, I though I might have an attempt at starting to grow stuff, herbs seems the easiest way to begin.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Yay first quote in ! £27,830 plus council fees of around £350 and the bathroom suite and tiles we choose. It was my fav out of the two we saw so I'm glad it came in at around what we were expecting. We currently have £25k from the loan and £500 saved, so need to make up £2330 plus the extra costs. A frugal few moths coming up nowMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

That sounds great, pleased you got your first quote in..... Seems like a reasonable price which is fab.0

Yes better than we had hoped really, although we still can't quite cover it yet!
£2.02 op today
I've had a good go through the finances for the rest of the year.
Money in (loan + a bit saved) : £25,800
April........£250
May........£561
June.......£561
July........£681
Total......£27,853
Money out: £27,830 cost of loft conversion
That could be achieved if we don't go over budget on our monthly spends and don't go away or out much
Still to find: £350 for the council fees and £? for the carpet for the top 2 floors and a bathroom suite/shower and tiles for the loft, plus a new (super large) bed and covers duvets etc. as dd is keeping the old lot. We are having my parents old bedroom furniture as they are getting new modern stuff, and its all old antique pine that i love, so that should save a lot.
rest of the year:
August......£681
Sept.........£681
Oct..........£706
Nov..........£706
Dec..........£706
I might borrow from the overdraft the money for the fees and £1000 for the carpet, and then pay it back from aug/sept's money. The rest of the years money pays of the stoozing cc almost exactly.
So if we eat and sleep and don't do much else we may just scrape through :rotfl:
Just noticed i've not allowed for the bathroom, so that will have to be paid for by either selling an organ or maybe selling the beautiful tent we bought lat year.:oMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
2nd quote now in, £28,536 not incl as before, the call out fees and bathroom suite, but also does not include the spotlights this time, no detail just an a4 sheet with a few bullet points typed out with the price, nowhere near as much detail as the other quote.
The 3rd guy may come round tomorrow if he has timetable have a look.
It's my birthday next weekend and my mum keeps asking what I want , and I honestly can really think of anything except soap and glory shower gel, there's usually a few things I would like but often don't buy as I try not to nowadays , so I'm a bit stuck. My parents usually splash out too much and I just don't know what to suggest, I would like to lose weight before getting new clothes. I wouldn't mind money to spend at boot sales when they open again this year as I wanted to get some retro crockery and another vintage chicken to keep eggs in to go with my other one, if I mention this though, my family will think I've gone nuts :rotfl:
Does anyone else struggle to think of ideas for presents when asked or am I just super awkwardMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'm struggling too, it's my birthday the following weekend and my sister keeps asking..... I suggested bits of make up (as I'm running v low) but she said that I would buy that for myself anyway, so it should be something different. Honestly, why ask and then totally disregard what I say?! So, I'm sure I shall end up with something totally random that I prob don't want or need..... (ungrateful cow alert? !0
