Is the film Warm Bodies?? I've just watched a trailer for it with DD ~ said it was a 12A. My DDs are going to see it on Sunday.
How lovely of your DH to leave you flowers & a card for Valentines ~ all I got from DH this morning was an argument about the cat!! :rotfl:
Well done on all the money organisation ~ mine is all to pot this month!!

No surveys, 10p op

Still not got around to updating last months figures, I've been wasting hours looking into mortgages, trying to see if we can add to the mortgage to get the loft done and have also been looking into whether it would benefit us to pay an early redemption fee and get a better mortgage rate ( whether we do the loft or not) The end result is no-one wants us
All is good and we can borrow more than we owe now, but the fact that dh has shares in his company and its not made a profit means they won't consider us.
Basically he needs a profit for 3 years running whatever his wages are and thats too long to wait when the kids are 13,13 and 16 in a few months, and the twins bicker and disturb each other all the time.
So, being the impatient person I am the options are:
Save a around 5K then borrow 25k getting a loan (if possible!)
Save for years and pay cash, by this time dd is an adult and I may have throttled the boys
Don't get loft done and put a partiton wall through the centre of the twin's room for some thing like 1k with new flooring etc.
(down side being they have a big triple window that the wall would have to go through the middle of, I can be done but will look a bit odd from the back garden.) Room size currently about 13 x 12ft I think.
Downside : If I chop the boys bedroom in half we won't get any extra space, dd will still be in the tiniest boxe room ever and no extra bathroom in the loft.
Plus side :about 29k cheaper :rotfl:
What would you do in my position?
We had our loft down two years ago, we had a 3 bedroom house with 1 bathroom, now we have a 5 bedroom house with 2 bathroom...FOR US (best choice we made.) because we now have 6 children, which i don't think we would of fitted in...
I still feel like moving but we have enough bedroom for everyone, just need to save up to made downstairs bigger..(no dinning room) have a nice day..xx£176,000 January 20140 -

Obviously it's gone now, but I remember you had so many good ideas to make extra money & you were always so willing to help others (like you are doing for newgirly today).
Hope you & your family are doing well.
me too i would often read through your diary,,come on start a diary again.xx£176,000 January 20140 -
Hi pink poppy, the film is warm bodies

Always try your best, all I can say is 6 kids  you Definately needed the extra space!
I bought a few nice bits from m+s yesterday, and made the kids some red cakes for valentines day. Today , I need to blitz the whole house and do a few loads of washing, plus I'm on a longer dog walk with my friend later and have a friend coming for lunch which I have not bought as I was too forgetful to remember in m & s yesterday. Really feel a bit rough today and could do chilling out a bit, still will try and have a rest Sunday , Saturday we will be on part 2 of the loft clearance.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Last 2 days op's 20p, today's op £15.50

Not sure if we will be doing loft part 2 now, dh very stressed and tired from work and has gone back to bed as he couldn't sleep
We had a second loft company round last night for another quote he seemed a bit more professional than the first, we still have no price front he first guy yet though.
I might take the kids to poundland if they want to go later, we've nearly run out of foil/food bags etc. and it's much cheaper in there than the supermarket, I could do with getting a few crisps and snacks for half term otherwise they will be going to the corner shop in half term, and spending a fortune.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Good luck with the loft plans - sounds fab!
Hope the kids enjoy half term - that film does look interesting!! :rotfl:0 -
Is a beautiful sunny day here today, it really lifts your mood

We did continue with the loft clearing yesterday , and today as its all over the house and probably have done the 2nd quarter. I'm feeling a bit guilty though as lots of you mfw's seem to be ebaying lots at the moment but there is just so much stuff it would take years , so lots of it is being charity'd or ( much more likely by dh - tipped
) yestdays was mostly toys , school work and photos.
It was great going through All the old photos , until I saw how thin and young I was! I can't believe how much weight I've put on , I was thinner than I am now when I had twin babies! Must do something about it otherwise I'll just get worse.
Other than that upset it all went well again:D
Today is the tip, cleaning the filthy living room as there seems to be glitter everywhere now , cooking a roast and hopefully getting dh to do something nice to cheer himself up, maybe take the boys to the cinema.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend xMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Beautiful day here too does make a difference and puts you in a good mood. Well done on the loft clearing. Don't blame you for just getting rid of stuff. Bet it feels good to get it out of the way. Do you have a date yet for the loft conversion.? Are you having two bedrooms and bathroom installed. Would love to have it done think well be moving to a different area next year possibly so won't be bothering. Should have done it years ago.2025 Decluttering 13021⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey newgirly, natty just sent me over as we're hoping to a loft conversion too.....
Do you have your quotes yet?
We had a builder round and now we are waiting on a structural engineer coming in the week as there are some issues with how the roof is currently supported. We need major changes to do the LC so currently don't kno if its going to be financially feasible.
How many rooms etc will you be putting upstairs? How will it affect your current first floor if at all?
It's interesting to be able to ask questions of someone embarking on the same thing........
