Thanks Michelle
I briefly have the internet again, it has been so frustrating as I need to get on the op calculators and work out the new finances as everything will be changed again if we get the loan. We have had the broadband people on the phone and my techy (sp?!) brother round but its still playing up.
Have not managed to get on my banking site so need to try and do today and yesterdays op's, no survey done either:(
Going to shoot off and have my chickpea and spinach curry, back later to read diaries fingers crossed!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Finally done the last few days op's of 10p a day
I've had a expensive day today , the dog has a water infection so she had to go to the vets which cost a whopping £81 for a consultation and antibiotic tablets (she didn'nt even have the jab first to kick start them working) they want me to go back in 10 days to make sure it has gone. I'm not being nasty I love my dog, but when dd had the same thing she got the prescription and nothing was said about going back to check. I have a feeling they will want to charge me another £45 for a consult and £10 for a urine dipstick test.
Oh, well at least its nothing serious or I might have to sell the house :rotfl:
I need to do a new budget for the year and change my targets here and on the mfi3 and 2013 mfw challengesi am fairly sure that we will not have any money to pay anything off the mortgage this year as we will be paying an extra £367 pm for our massive loan and having to find around another 5K + as the loan does not cover the cost
Oh, and dh will be getting paid monthly instead of weekly soon, and it will happen just before a 5 week month , so I need to find the money for the merlin annual passes as they went on the stoozing card and that weeks money was supposed to pay for them.
One small effort made today was I batch cooked a load of cottage pies for the freezer, does not really outweigh all the money which seems to be flowing away form us at the moment.:pMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

Thanks for reading Moneycurious, the kids are expensive but it can be the OH's not so on board that cause the most problems
Hi Nto, not sure when the work will start, we will get the guy back who quoted for it last time and another one someone has recommended, it doesn't matter when really but maybe summer would be nice as dd will have finished her exams but not started college, plus I might be bored not having a summer hol this year (where's the self pity smiley)
Dh's wages have changed as its more efficient to pay everyone monthly than weekly, it means i need to build hols/car in etc. into my monthly budget and also work out a way to not run out. Plus our bills come out through the month stating on the first so we are going to be a whole month overdrawn most of the time unless I can find a spare weeks money and another whole months money so we have the money to pay the bills at the start. Hmm not sure that made sense!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Made perfect sense to me. Eek . Still, will make budgeting easier when it settles down.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I have actually have given myself a headache trying to sort out the years revised plan.
For some strange reason the bank have paid 25k into our account today, they had said we were approved in principle and we had to send back forms and payslips , we have not even received these yet but they has given us the money anyway.
We are 5k ish short on the loft room as far as we know, and around 2.5k short as we need to find an extra months wages due to the pay changes, plus we start paying the loan back in 30 days time at a scary £368 pm for 7 years  (will be oping the loan until its gone as the rate is higher) , so that's an extra £3680 this year too.:( Total extra to find is £11,180 if it comes in at the figures we expect. My op target for the year was £10,733 so the only op off the mortgage will be Tilly tidies for the next year at least.
I 'm going to leave the 0% snoozing cc and deal with that when the deal is nearly up as I can't cover that as well at the moment.
I've still tried to allow some money each month for Xmas and a small budget for a couple of nights away at Alton towers with the kids and hopefully a weekend away for me and dh for Xmas.
I think this year will just have to be a write off :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
But it won't be a write-off as you'll have a lovely new loft conversion and happier children and family life.

Lovely post from megela.
We are doing similar newgirly, we saved in 2012 but didn't OP the savings as we need to do some work on our house, like replace the kitchen, do something to inside the loft as the felt is falling down on the roof and we had to have our porch repaired.
I look on our MSE ways as what helps us save to get the work done. You can't live a joyless life so it is always about balance.

Thanks Megala and Katsu, it's right with a growing family you just can't put life on hold for years. I'm finding it a bit strange though after almost 3 years of paying stuff off will will end up owing about 5k more than when we started
I suppose on the flip side if we hadn't been good the last few years we would not be able to consider doing work on the house now.
The spending has continues today tooI've bought groupon's local deal of the day and got 2 games of bowling for up to 6 people plus 12 arcade tokens for £16 (saving £59) so I might do a family trip there for my birthday weekend in march.
Plus I'm waiting to hear from a maths tutor for dd which will be another £25 a week, and to top it off we have family over for a takeaway tonight (cooking not an option, they always want takeaway if its a Friday!) and dh has no money so I have to pay. Will the spending ever end:rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
