We had a great day yesterday, I took the kids to madame tussauds and we got lots of photos with the stars! Then lunch and a trip to their fav comic shop, and as Dad paid for lunch and we got in MT free with the passes I only spent £3.20 for ds2's ticket as he has lost his oyster card, so a nice cheap one :D

Today I have to catch up with washing/cleaning etc. as the rest of the week is busy as well. I was going to take them all to see skyfall today (orange weds) but dh is going tonight so I think they can go with him instead, I do want to see it but as so tired at the moment I'm not sure I will make it.

Todays small to do list is:
    • Draw out £200 grocery for the month(need a seperate purse for this as well)
    • do all washing
    • do all ironing
    • look up reciepes for dinner tomorrow with friends......done
    • clean bathroom/kitchen/hall
    • check accts.........done
    • if time try doing some meal planning and look at whats in cupboards already
    • surveys
    • finish unpacking from monday :o..done
    • update signature
    • make laundry gloop........done

    It's £12 in Mr M as well :D.

I've just been updating my signiture and the mf2012 challenge figures. I am not even half way to my target this year :(
Nov and Dec should be good figures but even if I stick to the £200 grocery budget and don't spend a lot at xmas (going out, as presents nearly done) I will be lucky to hit £7 k out of a target of 10k for this year.

Here are some of the reasons for overspending this year :
    • about £700 on a kitchen makeover
    • £1000 is on centerparcs weekend
    • £500 ish spending money for devon holiday
    • merlin annual passes £450 ish
    • extra petrol/spending on theme park days out £200?
    • 2x weekends to alton towers (cheap hotel though ;))£400?
    • dh's 40th party/weeknd away/extra presents £600 ish?
    • bit of ikea furniture to turn conservatory into study £200
    • changed our almost new car for a 2nd hand 7 seater £1700
When its all written down it looks TERRIBLE! A total of £5750, which is not much less than the op's will be at the end of the year. Not sure why things have gone so wrong this year as the previously I had done so much better. Living costs are still very low, but the savings are going on treats. I must do better

:j Just redeemed my first survey voucher in ages - £10 for mr s food shopping, so I will op the same amount to the mortgage. Plus halifax reward of £10 this morning.

I have £200 cash for food this month and £60 surplus for petrol and everything else eek!

If I can stick to this I can make a mortgage payment of £1507 (£405 interest) this month which is the very worryingly the monthly payment I HAVE to make to clear it in the remaining term of 9 1/2 years

I'm off to do the first ever kitchen cupboard "stocktake"

Another hectic weekend, we had a day of decorating yesterday as whilst making dd's bed I found her wallpaper peeling off, on closer inspection it all had mould behind it
I've been nagging her for weeks to get the windows open and not keep wet towels in her room  So a whole day spent stripping paper, bleaching, treating with anti mould and painting.

Last night we had my parents for a takeaway which dh paid for, today we are off to see bond, again dh is paying. Its very nice to have a treat , but maybe his monthly budget is too high :D

I have spend £11.88 out of this months budget for food so far, I don't think I will do any "big" shops just a couple of days at a time. I also made the rash descision to fill up the car 3/4 full with petrol which cost £50. I now have £0 money this month except the food budget. is it possible for me to last without anything?

Good luck. If you are not buying presents then I think you can do it. Just stay away from any shops.
