    Happy birthday :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks everyone, thats very kind :D

I had a pretty boring day cleaning and washing but a great night with the family way too much wine and a curry. DH got home late but surprised me with a big bunch of flowers and a present that he made for me which was a beautiful set of books bound in blue leather with gold leaf, I had known he had done the first book but not the other six.

Today its my MIL's birthday so either we are going there or they are coming here, first i need to pop to the shopping centre as DD has no suitable shoes to go with her suit for work experience on Monday.

I made my own birthday fairy cakes yesterday so that was quite mse, and had bought a lovely blue spotty cake stand from the 99p store. Its one of my lunch friends birthdays tuesday so I might do that again as its my turn. Anyway off to get dressed and go shop, might have to spend a bit of birthday money as well!:D

Up way too early for a sunday, so have been reading a few diaries. After seening the imminent rate rise with halifax I rang to reserve a new rate with my bs chelsea, I wasn't going to bother until monday but thought i'd do it now. Chelsea are not my fav. lender and their svr is 5.79% I think, but as its difficult for me to change provider for quite some time due to dh's work I have bitten the bullet and instead of going for the 2 yr tracker at 3.29% as I had decided, I have gone for the 5 year 4.29 fix. I just felt that after halifax put theirs up things would only start to go one way and in 5 years time 4.29 might be a good rate. Hopefully by then I will only have 3 or 4 years left to pay on it.

There was the option for a 4.49% fix offest as well , but after weighing it up I decided it would be way too easy to borrow back and although if we stay we may well need the loft converting the risk to just borrow for other stuff is too great as we need a new kitchen/drive/carpets.

I am goin gto check my accounts while everyone is still in bed and update whats been earnt and op'd last month.

My fix is finishing next year and I'm scared there won't be any good deals left - especially that I won't be employed than and I have still a lifetime of mortgage left

When you look at the previous rates, anything below 5% is a good deal though, and with your OP you might find yourself mortgage free after 5 years:D

From March 2012: Mortgage OP: £160 pcm

A 4.29% 5 year fix isn't too bad especially when you see that lenders can increase their SVR anytime they fancy. Hope there weren't too many fees attached. Also, you can make great plans for OP's/budget now as you know exactly what your payments are going to be.

DD had her first day at work experience yesterday, she looked so grown up in a suit! She is doing two weeks in reception class at a primary school, unfortunatly I have to drive her and due to traffic it is a 1 hour round trip twice daily, eek! My new car is a 1.6 compared to our old one a 1.4 engine , but it is using more petrol as its bigger. So I probably need to budget for that rise in costs in the monthly budget.

I went shopping with my mum at blue water, I was given £130 for my birthday so thought I'd treat myself. I had'nt realised how hard i find it to spend on myself now, I can spend on trips away quite happily, even lunch out, but actual things its really hard. I can't but anything in a shop unless I know I can't get it online cheaper or through tcb. I suppose its a good thing, but it really has spoilt my enjoyment of shopping a bit.:rotfl:

Today I have friends for lunch so have made some baileys cupcakes yesterday, I tried one for quality control purposes and they were out of this world! I just have the whole house and a ton of washing and ironing to do first, plus the drive to dd's school and a very long dog walk with my personal training friend. I would much prefer to be glued to the sofa today.

Hope your DD enjoys her Work Experience ~ she's very lucky, 2 weeks is fab!! Our local Council has pulled out of work experience altogether this year so my DD2 & hundreds of other pupils miss out :(

I know what you mean about buying things for yourself ~ I'm the same. When I went shopping with a friend at Christmas I must have driven her mad telling her she could get that cheaper at such & such a place ~ I haven't seen her since!! :o:rotfl:

Enjoy your lunch with your friends ~ Baileys cupcakes sound
