I have received an Email from Ryanair telling me to Rebook my Return flight from Girona by checking in online as my flight tomorrow morning has been reinstated. As my flight to Girona on the 17th was cancelled I did not travel to Spain and on a previous Email from Ryanair I opted for a return cancellation.
What now as it is impossible to get in touch with Ryanair?

Just an update for people flying with Thomas Cook Airlines who have booked through flythomascook.co.uk.
I am stranded in Turkey. I received an e-mail stating that my flight had been cancelled and my credit card would be refunded, and that if I wished to rebook I should visit their website (!!!) I eventually got through to TC customer services in UK who told me that this e-mail had been sent out by mistake and should only have gone to passengers departing the UK. They were aware of this and would be sending out another e-mail and I should just ignore the email that said my ticket had been cancelled.
Not wanting to take chances I e-mailed Fly Thomas Cook with details of the conversation and asked for e-mail confirmation by return that my ticket is still valid and I will be returned to UK. I received a standard e-mail response totally ignoring my e-mail, but just informing me that all passengers due to depart UK on the affected days would now be refunded and I should rebook!
However today the FTC website is updated with telephone numbers for resorts, with instructions to contact the resort reps (as an indepe3ndent traveller I don't have a tour rep). I have spoken to my resort rep today, and they have taken my details - however she told me that they have NO details for customers who booked online with FTC and are unable to locate or contact these customers. So it is very important that anyone who is waiting to hear should contact their resort rep as they probably don't know of your existence! (Originally I was told by TC airlines to stay put and wait until the airline contacted me).
The joke is that I paid extra for text updates which specifically stated that I would be notified of any changes to my itinerary, but since receiving a text on 17th April telling me that my flight was currently due to leave on time the next day (must have been an auto text as that was plainly wrong) I have had no contact whatsoever from them.
So if you are in the same position as I am, you need to contact your resort office.
Hope this helps someone.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Did you pay by credit or debit card?
If you paid for flights or holiday on your credit card, and incur further expenses as a result of being inconvenienced or stranded abroad you can also lodge a claim for losses with your credit card provider, if the initial cost incurred is for between £100 and £30,000. This is law under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
If you paid with your debit or prepaid card provider, or your claim is for less than £100 and you paid with a credit card, you can lodge a claim with the provider under the Chargeback process. Receipts are required for claims.

We were booked on a Virgin holiday to Las Vegas and due to return last thurs and amongst over 500 virgin holiday customers who have been given no date as yet to return to the UK.
If we had been customers of virgin atlantic we could have rebooked our own flghts home - but as virgin holiday customers we can not do this. Indeed we have met customers with other companies that rebooked and returned today. It is incredible to me that Virgin atlantic and Virgin holidays are behaving in such a manner.
We were again today promised a call tonight from the Virgin rep in Las Vegas confirming our flight home - but again no call.
Totally appalling!!!0 -
I booked my travel package through expedia. I've been trying to contact them since Sunday (our trip was supposed to start on Monday but was cancelled). I've sent emails, i've tried calling but nothing - according to their website i'm 'currently on my holiday'. The cheek!
Has anyone had any luck with expedia.co.uk?? I want to know if I'll get a refund!
Hi Sidekick - I got my refund from Expedia 2 days after speaking to them. You are better off calling their switchboard number 0207 019 2000 option 2 for customer services. Good luck.0 -

Sorry this is probably not good reading for you from Virgin atlantic, hopefully you will get some space on a special flight soon as you should be first on in priority 4.
Repatriation Priority
To assist you in answering questions from passengers who are stranded away from home we would like to share with you our boarding priority policy. This is based upon our legal and contractual obligations along with the welfare of our passengers and is as follows:
Priority 1
On normal scheduled services passengers who were originally booked on these scheduled flights will take priority. Any spare capacity on scheduled services and space on special repatriation flights will then be allocated as follows:
Priority 2
Passengers whose needs have been assessed by our passenger health professionals as being a medical emergency, followed by passengers who had a special assistance request noted in their booking prior to their departure from the UK.
Priority 3
School groups and those passengers that have been sleeping in the airport.
Priority 4
Passengers who have been delayed the longest i.e. 14/15 April first followed by 16/17/18/19/20 and 21 April 2010 respectively.0 -

Hi,
Finally got back from Spain yesterday morning after nightmare few days stranded in Spain without any help from anybody official only advice from this site - thank you. Now I'm back I want to make claim to refund some of the money I had to pay out. I am worried though because I tried to save money and booked flights and accomodation through lowcostholidays. They have sent me an email after I contacted them for assistance saying that "your holiday has been dynamically packaged and we act as a booking agent for third party suppiers" What does this actually mean? Has anybody else had any dealings with them and are they trying to get out of any liability? Also does it mean because I booked with them I won't be able to make a claim with Monarch who were the flight providers. My insurance was through Advantage Gold Nat West and I paid for the holiday using my credit card.
Please advise as my stress levels have already been through the roof and I have high blood pressure anyway!!!!!DF by Christmas 2014 #78 £18,964.15/£15,000
