having not booked a holiday like this before i am a novice, sorry. i booked with media travel,they booked the hotel and flights and transfers,they appear to have atol etc, im just very confused about the fact that they say that if its an act of god.etc etc....

This is what they call things beyond anyones control 'hurricanes, floods, volcano' etc, The majority of insurance companies will not insure against 'acts of god'. But most tour operators are being very reasonable at the moments and refunding any trips they have to cancel....all you can do is contact mediatravel and see what they say. Sorry I can't be more help good luck

hi folks, any info would be appreciated.

we are due to fly to alicante from belfast on thurs 22nd at 6am with aer lingus, while this has yet to be cancelled i would imagine it is likely to be.

my questions are:

i have flights booked a week apart so if i rebook do i need to keep the same gap between flights?, or could i book 10days or 2 weeks?

how far in advance can i book new flights ie can i book at the end on june? as dont fancy booking next week when we could be in the same situation.

Think you can change the duration, but the flights usually have to be within 30 days of the original date.

Hello, My Expedia package is made up of flights and pre paid hotel.
As this company now advertises itself as a tour operator I do not understand why the feeble amount of information on their website merely states "our packages are non transferable and non refundable." One question "how"?

Was just wondering if anyone had any info or advice on the following.

Booked flight+hotel through expedia and I am meant to be travelling on 6th May. If this flight is cancelled, does anyone have any knowledge of whether i would receive a refund for just the flight or flight + hotel.

Just wondering if anyone knew since it will take a while to get any response for expedia.

Expedia have confirmed to me that if you have booked flight & hotel through them they will refund the full amount.

Had an email from Ryanair this morning. My flight to Krakow tomorrow has been cancelled (not unexpected)! I found it easy to cancel my booking through the link on their email. Hotel booked through Thomas Cook via Expedia: I cancelled through the Thomas Cook link and they're only charging £33.38 for the two of us.
I have to say Ryanair have kept us all quite well informed (credit where it's due) and Thomas Cook haven't been greedy over the cancellation.
I'm amazed really, apart from losing my holiday, it's been fairly painless.

Just wanted to highlight the good service I've received from Travelrepublic. Had an expensive hotel booked with them in Portugal for this week, contacted them by phone to find out what would happen if the flights were cancelled. They said they are negotiating with each hotel.
Once the flight was confirmed as cancelled, I used the booking management on the site and have now received a full refund (minus credit card charge). I didn't expect to get so much back so I'm really pleased with their service. :beer:
