Expedia's website has confirmed that airline refunds take a min. 90 days - what a joke!0

Are the airlines making money off the fact that people have paid but aren't flying, so they have the money but they aren't using fuel and things for the plane. Now I know some airlines will refund the customers but the cheapers seem like they're going to keep the money...0

I am spanish speaker so i rang the hotel in Spain, explained the situation and they agreed to change our accomodation when we know for sure we are travelling at no extra cost. they are great.
Thats great, i hope i can get to a similar outcome, i might try contacting the hotel direct, though my spanish is not so good! I've just taken a call from Sun 4U, she said she cannot deal with it and I should call customer services, i told her i had and they had told me they cannot deal with it on the phone and to email, she said they should get round to me!0 -
I hope someone can help me here, my package holiday is being refunded but the tour operator wants to charge an admin fee for processing the refund. The terms of the package tour regulations 1992 state "The consumer is entitled to have repaid to him as soon as possible all the monies paid by him under the contract." It doesn't say anything about fees and I can't see how that would be legal - does anyone have a considered opinion on this?
I know this is only a small issue but I like to stand up for my rights regardless!0 -
what a nightmare... i hope things get sorted for you. Try and ring, that's what i did, i did not contact TravelRepublic.
I have an advantage... spanish is my mother tongue .:)Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
FERRIES FROM THE NORTH OF SPAIN
In case anyone's thinking of crossing over from the North of Spain to the UK, P&O have just opened up extra spaces on their ferries from Bilbao to Porstmouth. I've just booked a place for one passenger (on foot, 215 euros, ouch!). The journey takes 28 hours and you can book on 902020461.
Good luck everyone!
Sabelita thanks for the info, some friends of a friend are stuck in Portugal at the moment, but looking at the site : you can't call from Portugal
and can't book online, will give the info to my friend maybe she can have a look herself. Disgusting that they are making money out of the misery of the people. :eek:0 -
I seen someone ask a similar question to my query but could not find a response.
In a few days I am due to fly from London to the US and then I have several internal flights booked vistiting different states before returning home. All flights have been booked seperately (one-way) with Expedia but my accomodation has been booked with different operators.
1. If my outbound flight from the UK is cancelled, would I be entitled for a refund to my US internal flights and my return home flight which would not be cancelled?
2. I have booked tickets to visit different attractions: disney, new york trips, shows etc, would i be entitled to a refund for these?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, budget airlines will be keeping all of the money and are expected to announce record profits for this quarter.
Have you actually read any of the info on this forum regarding the current situation?0 -
Expedia's call centre number is now just ringing out! Bad enough I was on hold all weekend without getting through. Why can't they offer an email response service and notify customers how long they can take to get a refund? Luckily I have a 0% purchase card but not everyone is so lucky. My brother got a refund from Cathay but it may take 3 months to process!!Expedia's website has confirmed that airline refunds take a min. 90 days - what a joke!
I'm totally fed up with Expedia.
I'd like to know, if/when my flight gets cancelled on Wednesday, and hopefully I'll be due a FULL refund from Expedia, how do I claim it?
I have tried phoning but like others, I was sitting on hold for 40+ minutes and gave up. Can I claim online? I'm not wanting to sit on a phone for 2 hours to cancel my holiday....0 -
