I am actively not thinking about the details...if I wonder about what he's eating I would worry far too much. :rotfl:

If he's like a hallmate of mine, that would just be omlette and noodles. If he's like someone who has recently moved out, she did cook some decent stuff.

Brining some food for the first few days. And toilet roll! (lesson in life I learnt the hard way:o)

When my parents were buying uni stuff for me, they went through their stuff to see what they had - much cheaper this way.

  • Try not to worry about them feeding themselves - OK it may not be the ideal diet, but they'll not starve. My son could only boil pasta and rice, fry fishfingers/eggs and open tins and jars but he seems fine. I think he has eaten in the canteen a couple of times there but says it's expensive. He gets together with friends from his halls on a weekend and between them they cook a roast, or last week they had a BBQ/picnic.

    Ethernet cable
    Simple recipe book
First aid kit (plasters, paracetemol, alka seltzer, ibuprofen - if allowed ot take, mini sewing kit) - the paracetemol and alkaseltzers should help the inevitable hangovers.
Some form of emergency cash thing....either a prepay card or send one just in case the money doesn't go in - it can take up to two weeks to go in.
