other retailers vouchers at Tesco

You know the Farmfood vouchers (£2.50 off a £25 shop or £5 off a £50 shop) you get either from Royal Mail as a leaflet or with your local free paper?

Well, I've just been told that a friend of a friend of a friend (!) has used them in Tesco today to get £7.50 off her shopping!

Not sure if this is Chinese whispers so can anybody else verify this?

Ah brilliant! Don't shop at Tesco (prefer Asda) much but might start too if they take them!

Do they work on Tesco online too?

They definitely take them. Couple of weeks ago I handed four of them to the guy on the checkout (two were £5 off a £50 spend and two were £2.50 off a £25 spend). He looked confused, thought for a bit, and just took £15 off my bill, even though I'd only spent £90! So you might want to think about finding a suitably young and inexperienced-looking staff member and try them out...

Do Tescos and Farmfoods come under the same umbrella of shops? Is it every branch of Tescos that takes the Farmfood vouchers or just a select few?

I know Asda have taken Weightwatchers vouchers before even though I haven't bought any of their items but some of the staff do check so I guess its hit and miss. I'll let you know how my local Tesco react when I take the Farmfood vouchers in!

Only certain Tesco's will take them...Usually if there is a Farmfoods in the area. It is upto the managers discretion....

I think I may try using a voucher next time I'm in Tescos and if they say they don't accept them I will tell them I got my vouchers mixed up.

I've never seen these particular vouchers yet, but our Tescos has huge signs outside saying "We accept Sainsburys / Asda / Morrisons Spend & Save vouchers" so I'd say it's a fairly safe bet that they would also accept these farm foods ones, as they are just a simple "money off when you spend a certain amount" coupons. I will definitely be looking out for them!!

What Tesco's do NOT accept (or definitely not in my branch cos there are signs at every till) is a money off coupon for a specific product if you haven't actually bought it. Eg. if you have a coupon for 15p off Warburtons bread then you need to have bought Warburtons bread to get the money off.
