I think you'll find it depends on how near the other store is. When in doubt, ask at CSD first.

Not too good to be true if you are Mr T, every time someone comes in with an ASDA coupon you have nicked a customer from ASDA, one that might keep coming back to your shop. (Not quite true, but Mr T always looks on the bright side).

If I were you I would ring up your local tesco and ask them.

You used to be able too use the none store specific coupons at Tesco if you didnt buy the product, however Tesco stopped this ages ago now after lots n lots of abuse. However, they do still take competitors spend, if u have reached the conditional spend amount ie.. save £5 when u spend £50 at Farmfoods....

Yes they do take any other stores coupons, but you must spend the amount indicated on the coupon. I gave them a £5 farmfoods one for a £50 spend and a supervisor was called to check it. I asked if they had stopped taking them. She told me any competitors coupon had to be checked by a supervisor (new policy) as some checkouts were putting through several on one spend.

In another store the week before. The manager was called and he held up the voucher and exclaimed 'Oh! its a FARMFOODS VOUCHER', A lady behind me called out as loud as him "Aye ye take them as well, I love to see you big boys getting screwed wi the wee man!" Everyone within earshot started laughing and he okayed the voucher and scurried off red faced. He He I didnt care I got £5 off my shopping. "Every Little helps!"

I thought the OP was referring to coupons for specific items eg 50p off Hovis bread with ASDA on the coupon - to the best of my knowledge Tesco has always refused these (if they spot the ASDA logo) even if you bought the exact product. They used to take non store specific coupons even if you didn't buy the item but thats all stopped now. All stores are supposed to accept conditional spend coupons from Asda, Sainsbury, Waitrose etc - and also the ones that you sometimes get in the Sun etc - but some of them can be difficult. HQ usually sort them out though.

I have found that my Tesco usually say they don't accept Farm Foods vouchers. I have queried it with CS Head Office and am assured that they should take them. Got to the stage where I shop elsewhere now - an assurance from CS that they should take them is no good to me when I have spent the £50 and then had the voucher refused. I've even had the Sainsbury's ones refused even though I've spent the amount required. Tesco's loss as I now shop elsewhere. Got fed up of scenes at the checkout.

I still can not understand when people complain that Tesco, or any other supermarket, do not accept other peoples vouchers. The Farmfood ones actually say on them only accepted at Farmfoods.

As for querying it with their head office if you have done this by email then take a copy of the email with you and your receipt and ask for a refund of the voucher.

Yes but it is annoying when Tesco's own staff often don't know or are not prepared to operate their own employee's terms & conditions. A lot of products sold in Tescos can be found else where far cheaper & I know I will only shop at Tescos if these vouchers are accepted, as per the policy. It is bad customer service if one store operates one policy & another down the road operates another. Is it too much to ask for a level of consistency?
