  • Its about £2200, for 7 nights, somewhere not too far (was intending a multi-centre hol in US to begin with, but my Mum rightly pointed out that I move 400 miles to a new house when we get back, so long-haul and jet lag probably isnt such a good idea!), bed and breakfast, somewhere with a bit of culture and a wee bit of beach maybe - but that doesn't really matter, and after the Easter weekend. We like Italian cultures, hence why we decided Sicily. We are looking for somewhere not too touristy, but with stuff to do.
And flying from London, so we can get a connection from the frozen north of Scotland!
I am not asking for much eh!

Hey TT, just realised your up north, where abouts? I'm in Inverness.

Sorry to hear about your dream hotel :-( rubbish when stuff like that happens

Out of interest, what was your dream hotel, and where have you been looking?

Gosh that's good!!! Because you only want short haul you're not paying a lot for flights and as it's only 7 days you're looking at somewhere almost at £200 a night if your flights are cheap to Europe.

Egypt is only 5 hours by plane (not from scotland>london>egypt though lol!) - but I don't know the weather at Easter.

You could always try a cruise - all inclusive 7 days in the mediteranian http://www.virginholidayscruises.co.uk/cruise-destinations/europe/island-cruises/island-escape/7,7/2011-01-01x2011-04-30/fly-cruise/

Ireland is gorgeous and you could stay in all sorts of beautiful hotels and castles there. There's a lot to see and great food - and seaside! But you're not guaranteed the weather.
    I love surprises!

Oooh you are just up the road from me! I am in Elgin, although I work in Aberdeen, so spend a lot of my time during the week at my family who live near there - saves the 4 hour a day drive and the horrific fuels bills a bit!

I don't want to say yet, as I have just found it on expedia! Its a wee bit more expensive than the hotel and flights package, but depending on flight prices it may be do-able! It says there is only 1 room left so I am not going to say until we have it, or not!!

Thanks for the info! I am not sure why, but I just don't fancy one! My folks, and in-laws (parents and sister) rave about them, but they just don't appeal to H2B and I. We maybe just need to give it a try! I would probably love it......but what if I didn't?

Never thought of Egypt mind, will have to check that out!

I have found availiability with the hotel on expedia, a wee bit dearer and would have to pay the flights as its not a package like the other one, so am waiting to hear with baited breath from H2B. It's driving me mad though, I just want it sorted so I dont have to fret any more!!
  • Is it bridezilla of me to have ordered our invitations today? Without speaking to OH first?

  • I'm a Bridezilla and every time I hear about how some one has complained about this or that my first thoughts are to tell them ever so politely they're welcome not to come ;)
  • Oo I have another, I'm a Bridezilla and I'm secretly disappointed me and htb won't be setting off for our honeymoon straight after the reception, we're staying overnight in a hotel and going the next day - but I wanted everyone at the airport to see me in my wedding dress.
  • i'm a bridezilla because I'm fed up of people asking us what we want for a wedding present despite not having a list and saying we don't want anything! On a nice note my next door neighbour who is coming to the evening reception said If we won't tell them what gift we want buying then can he come and do some diy for us that my h2b doesn't have time to do! weddings can sometimes bring out the best in people :)
