I am feeling like such a bridezilla today, and I feel bad cos I shouldnt! We went to look at honeymoons today, as we keep changing our minds on what we want to do!
Anyhow, we thought on the US, and quite fancy Vegas and LA. Went to the travel agent and she found us 4 nights in Vegas, and 6 nights in LA, in nice hotels, going World Traveller Plus with BA for £3k. I know its a huge amount of money, but we have saved plus are getting money from the in-laws. I thought it sounded ace. H2B wasnt so sure. The he decided he fancied Italy, and looked at 5 nights in Rome, and 5 nights in Sorrento, in 3* and 4* hotel. It came in at £2200. I kinda grudge paying £2.2k to nip across the water, when for another £800 we could go in slightly more style to the US!
I know I sound like a right old b**ch, and an ungrateful one at that, but I had my heart set on the US, as I reckoned we should do a long haul before we settle down and had babies! I have had a wee cry (more out of annoyance at myself tbh!), and I feel really guilty for even being annoyed at my H2B!

    Someone sort me out please!

edit - I feel bad that I am being such a cow btw, I re-read the first sentence at realised that it looks like I shouldnt feel bad for being a bridezilla, when I def should be feeling bad!!

Oh, don't feel bad! We all have our issues! I'm sure my h2b and i would disagree about our mini honeymoon if i was getting a clue as to where it is!

I am surprised though at your logic - I've been to Rome and I love Italy so much, it's an amazing place and there are so many things to see and do i certainly wouldn't want to take kids. The US on the other hand, I'd take kids there, they speak English and they have disney land and universal studios and all that Jazz. For me, i'm waiting until we have kids to even consider the US!! (unless i get a lottery win, in which case - New York spending spree, obviously!!)

I personally think that as it's your honeymoon it should be somewhere you both look at and just say "YES!" straight away. Have you thought of somewhere a bit different? You've got so much money to spend you could do Montenegro, or take a cruise to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) or Go to the Maldives before they sink into the Ocean, or Morocco or Canada or ... If i had £3k to spend on a holiday anywhere in the world right now, I would go somewhere people wouldn't guess! Have fun choosing!

  • Tartantotty - I think it might be worth trying to come up with a entirely different idea together, as bothe Rom & the US are now "his and your" individual ideas.

Me & my OH each had some ideas, then we slowly moved towards a middle point with a new destination that we're now both equally excited about.

BUT - putting a Brizilla hat on - you could stamp your feet, go to Vegas, and stay in the Venecian. That way the OH gets a bit of Italy, right?! ;)

GRRRRRRRRRRR it's happened. Someone has booked to come out to rhodes for our wedding and they're staying a week longer than us. I KNOW it's nice that they're coming out, but i'm seriously sulking about it. I don't want to be back at work while they're still there, it's like they're having my honeymoon!!!]

Help me put this into perspective please!!!

I have nothing to say Twirly because the same thing's happened to me! 4 of our guests coming out later than us so they're staying an extra 3 days after we leave (not a whole week, but still!) I wish we'd gone on that flight and told everyone else to go on the one we're actually going on so we could be the ones staying behind after everyone leaves!

It's so annoying!! All because they're insisting we're in Rhodes for 8 days before the ceremony. Boo.
