she did say they could alter the length of the dresses, but I want above the knee, and it seems a shame to cut so much off the bottom of such beautiful dresses. My mum got married in a gorgeous short dress and I want to do the same - where is the foot stamping petulant smiley?

Brightside, if you like the Monsoon dress why don't you get that? Just had a look at their website and they have four or five short dresses. My dress is from Monsoon and I love it, it's beautifully made and perfect for our day which will be a mix of formal & informal

Alternatively if you decide to shorten a long dress, could you use the excess material for something else? Ni idea what, a pair of lace curtains?! :rotfl: x

keep the off cuts for a christening dress for babies???

or keep for a daughters something old - a piece of mummys wedding dress sewn into the hem or something sweet like that
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

    lovely ideas thankyou,

I want to try the dress on but they have withdrawn it from all the shops for restocking - whatever that means.

So in the meantime i'll carry on looking in bridal shops if i'm passing, and hoping to just stumble across the perfect dress

Order it from online? Monsoon are really good with their returns policy and if you don't like it you can take back to store or return by post. I was in there the other day and their selection did seem small compared to what's on the website, I bought mine in June and the selection was bigger - not sure how much time you have and if you could wait until the bigger collection is back in store xx

its my hen party this weekend and im really disappointed that its a neon themed party and my CB has put everyone in different colours except me who is the same as 2 other people... And also that she has bought a lot more things for herself so is basically upstaging the bride. And when i subtly suggested that we swap my outfits or alternate bits so we are all mismatched she blatantly ignored me. I think shes planned it as her hen night not mine.

  • Don't worry everyone going will know its your hen night and when people ask about you guys dressing up everyone will point you out as the bride so it's not a big deal.

Any chance that she is just trying to keep your outfit a secret or something?

Nope, she showed me all the outfits last weekend. She's in blue and me and two others are in pink. It doesn't worry me that much but i would of thought she'd have been more aware of the fact that i'm the bride. She's the type of person that puts herself first but i didn't expect her to put more effort into her outfit than mine so to speak.

I wouldn't worry - people simply can't resist the whole embarrassing veil/L-plates malarkey, so I bet my bottom dollar you'll be very obvious ;)

Ready for throwing a mega strop!

Thought I'd found my dress last week, but I had a few doubts and have decided it's not the one.

Been shopping again today with my mum and found my perfect dress but my mum doesn't like it!! Not that it matters if she likes it or not, but why can't she even be happy I've found one I love?

Then, got home and called my sister (who couldn't come shopping with us) and she couldn't even be bother to switch her laptop on to have a look at it!

    Grrrrr!!!
