ok i will have a try see if i can get it sorted may be back for more advice

ok last night i reset my router delted aol off my computer and tried to set the settings but it still now having any of it and i really dont know why it wont work as in the bottom hand cornor it got the wirless thing adn says it got a signal but just every time i open internet exploria it comes up with page not found try going to tool and internet options any advice

Sorry you are still struggling but as I don't have AOL can't really help you much more. This poster may sort you out though. Don't give up because it can be done even with the AOL software installed on the machines.

yeah i guess it can be done i think tonight im goona unstall everyhtink start all over again and try get it sorted if anyone else can help that be great tho as i dont get why its now working as im sure i got all the settings 100% right

Well they are giving out wireless routers now, so you know it can be done even on the Silver package, whereas before I think that they insisted that you had the Gold package for networking although I'm sure that there was a workaround!

Are you waiting long enough for it to connect, when Power, Ethernet, DSL and Internet are all lit green.

AOL router you don't even need a username and password to connect.

You can also set it up using the disk they provided, pop into cd rom drive, wait for the flash page to open, check by clicking next that everything is installed correctly, then it runs through a test.

Sometimes the DSL green light says fail, not to worry just close the flash page and start using it.

I get the feeling your firewall is the problem, I will suggest uninstalling it and rebooting then setting up your router, reinstall your firewall software and reboot (make sure the router is on).

Your firewall should then reconfigure the router to work.

Make sure also in windows that you disable windows firewall.

ok basically this wat happend i had a laptop and wanted to set it up wirless so i went on ebay brought a wirless router a bt voyager 2100 got that it says that this router does not work with aol i need to update the firmware on it so i did this then install aol then add a location then searched for my broadband connect this worked fine it found it then my sister got a laptop and she had wirless so i did the same for her but because with aol u can only go on one screan name at a time and we both use the net alot so we both want be able to go on at the same time so i thought there mst eb a way so it setup like wirless network where the router hold the settings we cna both use internet exploria anytime we want to go on net and we have outlook set up as our mail client so we can still get our aol mail but im not sure how to do this ive set all the settings i think are right but it still wont connect to just the router so when i click internt exploria it comes up with a erroe page saying cheek tools settings so on blar blar so i dont know whats going on

Do do what you want you do not need the AOL software on either machine. Simply set up the router to establish and maintain your connection to AOL. That's it.

that what i thougth i would need to do set the settings on the router then click internt exploria it would connect to the internet and that would be sorted but im goona try tongiht goona turn my firewall off reinstall everythink then if i get any error codes or that i make note then that may help sumone on here undertand more of the problem
