Lik sang are importing them, with the 220 volt one you should be able to charge them up directly over here, although they offer advice and chargers if you need them. There is no region locking, so you will be able to use UK games. The only difference is the WarioWare TOUCHED demo and the T-Shirt

this is an absolutely toss offer by Nintendo and I think whoever responsible in their marketing department should be shot for it.

What? Use 1000 stars (costing AFAIR £160 in gamecube games) to get free delivery on an item that you'll generously send me for £30 over the retail price?

Get knotted. and get some useful products I actually want in the stars catalogue instead of crappy screensavers and wallpapers you bunch of rip off merchants......

    (sorry, I'll stop ranting now :D )

For your £30, You get the item before Most other people, Mario promo Game, and a T-shirt (but yes, it's still a rip off)

    Actually, you are wrong there.

It is not £30 over the retail price as this is what you get.

    DS - £100
FULL Mario Game Included - £30
Free Metroid Demo - No value as will be included with all first batch DS's
Free Wario Ware Demo - Immeasurable value as is only available with this offer
    T-Shirt - ?

Basically you are getting a bunch of stuff free.

As for the thousand stars that is only 4 games which you get pick up for around a tenner each if you know where to look. You do also get the games themselves for the '£160' you know.

And as for the 100 stars being for delivery I like to see it more as them being for getting your console 6 weeks before release date.

Just thought I would point that out, needless to say I have ordered mine.

This is an absolutely toss post by tin who should be shot for it.

You get 200 stars free for registering. If you are registering then you obviously have a GBA SP or Gamecube with 500-1000 stars included with it. There are also frequent bonus stars like an extra 150 with Mario Kart or double stars when you registered certain games before certain dates. Refer a friend and get 250 stars for each friend. Also from filling out surveys alone you could get about double the required amount not to mention you get stars every day for logging in. Without buying any games it is very quick, easy and cheap to get 1000 stars. I have over 20,000 stars without paying a fortune.

As for useful products there have been been Cubes, GBAs, Games, Bonus discs, tshirts, GBA Players, Wavebirds, Signed items, Limited Edition Items etc all added to the UK catalogue so they are there and when stars are so easy to collect they are not going to just hand over tangible items and pay postage to absolutely everyone.
  • Region-free DS's are available at the link below. I've nothing to do with the company but I have used them before for GP32 stuff and they were first rate:

At £115 they're not particularly cheap, but if you can't wait til March then it's probably better value than £130 + stars from Nintendo Europe above.

    i just ordered one :)

rather spur of the moment, but it looked like a great deal and i'll love having it prerelease without paying a premium, and getting a UK version is nice too, no plug converting etc :)

i read the reviews after ordering and this baby looks sweet, there seem to be some very nice projects going on surrounding it too, people have it running linux and i wouldnt be surprised if people get it to access the internet over wireless soon, tons of potential

looking forward to getting it after looking around my house and scrounging the stars codes off mates :)

just to let you know all DS are region free, nintendo have not region coded their games, nice to see that they aren't being greedy, also the way i understand it we get the DS before release date by ordering from nintendo, and with the tshirt and game included, game worth 30 and shirt a collectors item its really not better value, it will also be an asian version, would rather have official uk one with warranty etc.
