It's looking more likely that we are all off to court to show debenhams that they cant keep treating people how they want and that we do have rights and they must adhere to the rules and regulations0

As nobody got the double bedset, anyone fancy trying to order the kingsize:

Its £27 reduced from £40 and when I tried to put it in my basket it worked. Although that doesn't mean you'll get it does it!
I ordered a pair of trainers, they sent flip flops, I emailed them and they said they would send out the trainers. Now after numerous emails, still no trainers and now they say I won't get them but guess what they are still showing on the website.
Debenhams are rubbish!!!!:hello:0 -

I got a letter back from Debenhams of 1 Welbeck Street, London today to apologise for the inconvenience caused. I had written to complain about the now infamous bedding scandal.
The reason for the problem is given as:Our website was experiencing difficulties around the time of your order ....... I presume other online customers experienced (think word or phrase missing) due to the technical difficulties the site has experienced ....this caused the site to not follow normal operating procedures. Regretably this caused the delay in response to confirm your order cancellation and I would like to thank you for your valued feedback which will be passed to the relevant departments here at head office.
I tried the polite approach rather than the rotweiler type - fobbed and off ring a bell.0 -

Interesting , I haven't received a reply at all to mine . They have till Wednesday before I issue a small claims court action .0 -
They have until tuesday to get back to me, presuming they do not write to me in the alloted time, can anyone advise how i go about taking them to court as i have never done this kind of thing before, but they have got me so irate with their blatant flouting of laws that i intend to foolow it through and advise everybody else to do the same0

Anyone heard anything from them yet. I also sent a recorded delivery letter to Rob Templeman. Have been expecting a reply, but I suppose this is Debenhams were talking about!!!
I will give them until tomorrow then the s!** hits the fan!0 -
Received this pathetic response this morning, would love some help on the next step etc as im new to all this malarky
I have been asked to respond to you by our chief executives office, who was sorry for any disappointment caused by not being able to supply you with your order.
On reading details of your letter, i regret that we do not agree with your interpretation of the legal position. A debit does not automatically infer the necessary acceptance required to form a contract in all circumstances. In compliance with our legal obligations, we have notified our customers as you point out, of the time at which acceptance of customer orders will take place and that this will not occur before the point of despatch of the goods, which is usual for internet sales. This is to ensure that everything is in order and availability is established to enable orders to be accepted. This is not affected by the card processing in preperation.
As we hope you will appreciate, in view of the above, we do not agree that any contract was formed nor do we agree with your comments concerning unlawful unilateral variation with regard to the issue of availability.
Whilst we apologise for any inconvenience caused, i can confirm that we are not in breach of contract and we do not accept your claim for loss of bargain.
I am sorry that i am unable to assist you further in this instance but please do not hesitate to cintact us regarding other matters
Yours sincerely
Paul Cavanagh

As you can gather im not impressed one little bit with their response and would appreciate any advice on my next move0 -

Debenhams are rubbish!!!!
Hi ,
I did order the King Size and 2 x double bedsets.
I called debenhams two weeks ago and got passed from pillar to post as they could not find my confirmed order.
I eventually called again and told them off for the shoddy CS and was told my double bedset order was cancelled due to lack of stock and that my King size was due to arrive 31st august 200 ??? I forgot to ask if it was 2006 or 2007 .................and so I am still waiting and hoping .
Their CS is definitley S***
Hoping i do get the King size as we have just moved house and have a new KS bed without the correct sized bedding - cos we are brokeA0
