Just reading one of my many letters & it states :

" This letter acts as an invoice "

An invoice is a legal document which can be used as evidence of an incurred debt. The recipient of the goods or services can challenge the legitimacy of individual charges, but the invoice itself is considered a bona fide debt. Sometimes a vendor or serviceman cannot collect on a bill immediately, so their company will send an invoice at a later date for payment. The actual daily expense of a service may be so low that a company will simply wait for a larger invoice to cover all of the costs at once.

So is our incurred debt with Debenhams as we have paid for our goods ?

Just phone cs, they are not interested and keep trying to use their t&c policy to wriggle out of it, they offered me a 15% reduction on any future orders with them, when i said i would not be using them again, i was told they are very sorry & goodbye, i am fuming:eek:

I was only offered an 10% discount I think I may be sending a letter as well. Their customer service is awful.
  • I think everybody who tried to buy one should send the letter to them, let them know that people are not happy, nor will they be fobbed off. Its time the small people stood up to the big firms and show they wont get away with treating individuals how they want
  • I'm having problems with the debenhams web site and can't get hold of the address to write a complaint to, I would be greatfull if some one could post it for me please. Many thanks

Whoops just read it in the above post

Well , my letter has gone recorded delivery , we shall see what reply I get if any . I was going to let this go , after all it was only £9 . When you actually think about the way they have behaved though I became determined to follow it through , too court if need be now if there is a case to answer .
  • Way to go, we all need to pull together on this one. Its not the amount thats in question, its the principle behind it all, from what ive read this is not the 1st time debenhams has done this sort of illegal practice

Yes , everyone needs to send that letter in with your details . Let Debenhams realise the anger out here over their attitudes & policy .

    whoop whoop!

I am not involved but i think this is brilliant.

    Power to the people!!!!!!

I think you should all send the letter and i hope they pay out!!!!

You are rocking the boat big time, i bet someone will be having some sleepless nights trying to work out how to get out of this one.

Maybe you should all chip in a pound for some legal advice. or maybe if you asked martin he would chip in for you. i'm sure it would look good for him representing his consumers.

    Good luck
  • Thanks for your support, i just get a bit p***ed off with companies doing what they like to people
