  • I just rang cs too - lady acting all dumb answered and continued to make out like she knew nothing only to state that they had received numerous calls re the sold out sets - they have obviously all been briefed on how to act dumb - though I guess most of them don't need much help.

I am fuming - especially as when I stated they are being unlawful she laughed several times and was just plain rude. Eventuallly got her to take my number and have requested a call back from the manager. I asked her to put some notes on my record stating I would be taking legal action against them.

have Debenhams now closed their website? There's a cryptic message on there at the moment suggesting its closed until autumn.
  • lol - maybe they had enough of us !
  • Just spoke to another so called manager - who was just as clueless - she couldn't even tell me who she was !

Anyway, boils down to apparently everyone who ordered got the same letter - SOLD OUT and order cancelled. They said that their T&Cs cover them despite me quoting them the law (unfair Contract Terms Act 1977) she just kept saying that their t&c's cover this etc....

Will be interesting as desipte the sold out advise they continued the sell this product for quite some time afterwards and held onto our money for all that time aswell - that could be a fair amount of interest huh ?

I advised her to tell her managers that there are alot of angry people who will be taking this matter further and maybe they should think about that - especially as for a lot of us this isn't the first time they have done something like this !
  • Just don't forget that they will be watching this thread, not that it matters really just thought I'd mention it.

This is ridiculous. Refund one day, letter confirming delivery by 29th August next day and finally the day after letter stating order has been cancelled. Terrible customer service and even worse organisation!
Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.
