Morning ladies....I stayed in bed til 9.15am...must be a record at the moment!! though i was up at 2.30 and 7 for the loo

Plan for today is to nip to Ikea as we need a new desk as new pc is bigger and it's all a bit of a squash! It is bound to be stressful as DH hates shopping, esp Ikea...and it's a slightly grey saturday! New printer is coming first, before 1pm apparently...ah, here it is I think!

    Hi all,

I am expecting in 7 weeks and am after a bit of advice re how many disposable nappies it's worth stocking up on. I've been keeping my eye out for special offers and money off coupons and wondered if anyone has any idea how many nappies we're likely to need in each size? Obviously it will be hard to pinpoint the newborn ones exactly as we don't know the birth weight so for how long they will fit in size 1, but any opinions and rough ideas very gratefully received.

Thanks for any help you can offer, and wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies.

Hi Jenid. I've only got 3 packs, as I'm planning to use reusables as soon as I can, but advice I've been given is that not all nappies suit all babies so don't stock up on too many. There are always offers around so get a few packs of newborns and size 1s and see how you get on. Hope that helps. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, I'm due a week after you.

Bra extenders?? Ebay yes?? Need them now as my maternity bras that were too big when I bought them are now getting very uncomfortably small:( The cups have filled out nicely though!!;)

I did buy a bra in next size up a few weeks ago but it was quite alot bigger. Do M&S bras come up bigger than other shops normally?? must try it back on in the hope it is still slightly bigger for the next few weeks.

My tummy is very very sore:(
My ebay one took ages to come, I ended up going to the local sewinig/knitting shop in the meantime as they had them in so may be worth trying.

Smartie some people are just ignorant/rude full stop whether you are preggers or not and believe me in London they are very rude . . .

And Rach ikea on a Saturday - no thanks, we always go after work as find it far too stressful although at mo is quite busy being school holidays.

Have a good weekend, I'm off on a trip to my folks up north hope trains are running on time!

Kitkat - Fingers crossed your cervix chills out. But if you do end up having a Csection or are worried you may need to have one it may be worth discussing with your MW. I was told at 36 weeks that I needed one as DD was big, breech, and had one leg flexed and one extended so ruled out any chance of the natural birth that I had been planning on.
I was petrified of having a Csection as i had never been in hospital, but it really wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had the spinal tap thing and although I felt drained afterwards, within 24 hours I had come round completely. I had DD at 11.30am and by 6pm I was up and about having a shower.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me and I hope I am being helpful rather than scaring the poop out of you :D

glad you got one smartie - local shops often so much easier! People are so rude, I got barged by an old woman with a trolley in the M&S queue yesterday, I even asked her to move back so I could reach the machine to pay and she just kept pushing her trolley towards me.

sir m - hope trains are ok and you have a fab time.

We survived Ikea, though thankfully I checked the table legs as 3 out of 4 we first picked up had the fixings missing! We've had lunch out and now DH is moving the spare room/study around again. Will be much better with a bigger desk. I think he'll be busy the rest of the day in there, and has the cricket on so he's happy! Think I will mainly just put my feet up :D

Thanks Tickle :) think I'm scared of a section due to a bad allergic reaction to anaesetic few years ago, I was out of it for days and couldn't walk for weeks. Baby is moving lots today and hurting me :( also keeps making clicking noises which is v strange!

Xmas: v brave asking your OH to check your cervix, don't think I'm brave enough!

Rach: I don't envy you going to ikea on a Saturday! It was chaos when I last went there!

I'd ask my hubby to check my cervix... But I don't think he'd know what to check for lol...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Hi ladies

Gawd, you lot can talk :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: But being a lady of leisure I've managed to catch up :T:T:T:T

CAFC - you posted on FB about being back in your size 8 jeans so don't come over here pretending to be all blobby still :rotfl::p

    Gorgeous pics Pigpen and CAFC

I think I'm the only one on here now who's nearly ready to pop but is quite happy not to - I'm enjoying the peace and quiet too much! I thought thibgs might be startting last night but they obviously weren't.

Oh, to all you waiting for an update on the drain situation, the caustic soda worked :j:j:j:j Now running freely (and this is money saving because I've saved a !!!!-load on having to pay to get a man and a hose round and it's pregnancy related because, er, it just is).

Stayed in bed til 2o'clock yesterday :eek::eek: Then I got up and ate lots and lots and then I cleaned lots and lots :rotfl:The house is finally looking like a nice place to be and at last we're ready for the baby - it's okay I'm only 38+3 :rotfl:

Right, off to do more cleaning :D
    Updating soon...

I know that my consultant was very against putting anyone under for a section, and they much prefer using the spinal tap so that mummy and baby can bond straight away. Is it just the "out you under" aneasthetic that makes you poorly? If it is they will more than likely go for the spinal tap which is just a stronger version of an epidural.
