dream - you and I are similar at the moment I think, I am tempted to do the same. When I went before I just said how tired I was, how I had no energy and constantly felt exhausted, like all my energy just drained out of my legs when I stood up etc. I was also dizzy etc with low BP at the time. She suggested a week off, but I'd gone with that in mind. I'd just be honest about how you feel, say work is too much at the moment. Dr will think of something for the sick note.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

rach thats exactly how i feel, im like a busted sofa, totally worn out. if i could afford it i would start my maternity now!! i just want to try having a week off. if that doesnt help me i may seriously re-consider how long i can stay in work
the thing is my doctor is a mini-hitler. its well known that he hates giving out sick lines. he loves workers and hates lazy people. so i thnk il go in and say "im really hoping to wrk right up to the end but i really need a few days im feeling really sick/nauceus again and my energy is kaput" im just afraid he will think im being lazy!

Dream just tell them exactly how you are feeling and that dragging yourself to work everyday is making it worse. They usually dont need much persuading to do a sick note if your pregnant. I dont know how strict your doctor is on the self cert thing but you may need to tell a little fib about how many days you have had off. One doctor in my surgery is a bit of a stickler but the rest dont bother :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Congratulations Pigpen, she's gorgeous
Fingers crossed this is it for you Xmas
Got my 28 week appointment with the midwife later this morning. Hopefully she won't be running an hour late like last time...You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Dream - sounds like you really do need the time off. I am tempted too though I only have 4 weeks left at work, which with one day's leave within that and probably 7 days working from home only means 12 days in the office. I keep thinking maybe I can manage that...but easy to think that sitting at home on the laptop, never feel like that when dragging myself on the train! Are there any other doctors you can see?Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

he's the only doctor id be able to get an appointment for, the lady doctor only does 2 days a week so you always have to wait ages for her. plus she doesnt really know me so id feel a bit funny going to her to ask for one. il just ive been off 3 days this week sick and im back in today so might lie and say ive had today off sick aswell. i really hope he understands what its like. men sometimes dont have a clue! the only reason i want a sick line is to rest so that hopefully i can work longer. if i keep going like this i will wear myself out and have to leave earlier.
xmas is your dia-woo woo still there? any other labour signs? i keep having mini heart attacks every time i feel like il get the runs incase its labour :rotfl:0 -

Congratulations pigpen. Welcome coops.
Quick question.
For your first pregnancy, when did you start to show? Im 14+2 and just started to notice a little bump...not so that anyone else could tell yet mind you. Hopefully i can get another month or so out of my normal clothes...wishful thinking maybe!?!
Oxo I'm 17+4 now and definitely have a little bump going on.
i've been in my maternity jeans for a couple of weeks now as my regular ones were too uncomfortable to sit done up at a desk all day, and sitting with my flies open and pants showing in the office, wasn't a good look!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Well I'm sat here in my mess of a house lol
OH is getting the car today :j
The kids have only just woken up and come down so I had a guilt free lie in :j Did wake up a few times and have a listen to see if they'd just quietly gone downstairs and trashed the place (not that you would have noticed!):rotfl: But they really were asleep!
It's cloudy and cool here today, quite nice actually, for a pregnant lady.
Congrats Coops!
I'm getting scarily close to the top of the list now... and there's so much to do... The cot isn't even up yet because my bedroom has got to be painted and rearranged first, after the cot goes up there will be a path from the door to the bed with the wardrobe at the end... the rest will be solid furniture... panic time slightly, must get ready!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Morning! i keep trying to get up the courage to post. Every time I decide to say something I chicked out. So time to be brave -
Congrats to Pigpen - she's absolutely gorgeous!
Labour vibes to Xmas (if you want them!)
Hi dreambirdie, what did you make of the antenatal classe so far? Do you start of off the time with the midwife or the Physio. We ended up with the midwife first - our new catchphrase in the house is "Is that ok?". I hope you can get the sick line sorted ok. nothing worse than being at work when you feel rubbish.
I'm stopping work in 2 weeks time as I have some annual leave to use up first and I can't wait. I have been diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain and given a belt and crutches to use. Feel a bit daft using the crutches in work but decided I was too sore to care!
Oxo - i got to 20 weeks before I had to go into maternity clothes - up until then I just looked like I was putting on weight. definately no hiding it now at 31 weeks!
Was wondering if someone could tell me if I'm right in thinking that the odd sharp pain at the bottom of my ribs could possibly be a small hand or foot wedged in there?0 -
PP she is beautiful
Congrats:D
Baby bumps........umm.......I'm still mostly in normal clothes just with the added help of bump bands and I'm 27+5:D I do have a couple of maternity tops and 1 pair of linen maternity trousers which are all uber comfy but they were all on offer coz I'm too cheap to buy them otherwise:p I think I started to properly show at around 22weeks..but even now I don't think my bump is huge but I am only getting the view from above so for all I know it's MAHOOSIVE and DH is too scared to tell me the truth:p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Dream hope you start to feel better soon:)
Xmas - fingers crossed it's the 'special' kind of dia-woo-woo;):)
KK(?) about Tesco vouchers........spend them on yourself if there's still stuff you need/want:) You deserve it!:D
Nothing to report here, woke up with a sexy snotty nose and trying to work out if it's from my Dad giving me a cold/doing too much and being run down/one of those pregnancy things...whichever one it is I'm bored of it already!
Hope alls well with the rest of you beached whales:p:rotfl: xxx1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:
