I am having a bit of a crap day today too, feeling really miserable and being grumpy with the kids. probably didn't help with ds1 being awake from 3am til 5am. but they are just winding me up today as they never do what I tell them too. and I have things that need done in the house like the dishes and hoovering but just feel so rubbish and down. I got fed up and threw one of ds1's toys in the bin when he wouldn't do what he is told (it was a broken toy anyway :( ) but now feel bad.

Am fed up that a second person on Ebay has failed to contact me or pay for an item they won - second time in two weeks! not the same one as made sure added them as a blocked bidder but really annoying! Why bid if you don't want it!!

Generally just feeling a bit down as having an expensive month this month too what with having to get new carpet & gas fire - collecting the fire today but not fitting it until next month. Got to decorate the living room too as just have bare walls at the moment.

Its just all a bit much today and probably its because am tired. :(

    my rant over...

Hope you get something sorted soon Pigpen as they cannot leave you like this - its got to be a case of negligence surely!

I have hoovered all of middle floor of house (we have 3 floors) husband took hoover up yesterday and we never got around to it, even hoovered spare bed matress will leave it to air now for rest of week and get husband to make it at weekend ready for mum coming next monday.

Have been making a huge batch of mince and veggies and mash potato for cottage pies should have enough for 3 lots which would serve 4 with veggies on side on us 2 plus my lunch the next day!!

Pigpen it all sounds pretty crap but for your own health and the babies you need to be seen so either ring GP or call an ambulance to take you to hospital, do you have any friends who will have the children - even some of their school friends people are always so willing to be helpful bet if you told them you needed to go into hospital you have lots of willing volunteers

I feel relaxed about a home birth too, that's what made me think it was the right thing for me. How far are you from the hospital in case you needed it? I think that is an important factor to lots of people. We are 15 mins away by car at a quiet time, 35 when it's busy, but there is an ambulance station just round the corner, and all the community midwives live in the same small town as me, so I feel very safe.

We are 30-40 mins away depending on traffic which must admit isn't ideal. Our only other option is a community midwife led unit but that's even further from the hospital 45-60 mins. Lots to think about.

Also, I am currently thinking of going for a home birth if everything is straight forward. Is this something you have done or would consider for a first pregnancy or am I mad to even consider it!? Thoughts much appreciated.

I am currently 35+5 with my first pregnancy and mine will be a home birth (hopefully if everything goes well).

I have to have a presentation scan tomorrow to make sure he is lying the right way, and have blood tests done to make sure that my iron levels are ok, but if both of these come back fine then it's home birth all the way! I've had the home birth assessment and have to buy some bits and bobs like plastic sheeting and stuff like that but won't cost too much.

I am pretty much the same as you, and don't like the idea of DH going home after the birth, and I also have dogs that I can't leave for too long (which would mean DH having to come home possibly midway which I don't think I want either!)

Just make the right decision for you and remember that you can always transfer if things do get too difficult/much to cope with.

They can't do much more in a midwife led unit than they can do at home!

I've had all mine in a big hospital (overdue induction and twins) and can't say I ever felt uncomfortable except for my epidural problem.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if something goes wrong at home they'll take you to the big hospital, same as they will from the midwife led unit.If you want to go for it at home, go for it is what I say.

Whatever I do or say it's always the same. He makes an effort for a few days then goes back to the old ways. I am sick of talking to him about it. I have tried shouting/ talking/ silent treatment/ crying - nothing makes any difference. :-(

pigpen i hope the hospital pull their fingers out of their ar*e and actually do something for you. they sound terrible! i hope u are ok!

kitkat when do u have to tell them if you will work or not? im going throught the same thing work are pressurising me for an official leave date, but i dont know what to say, as i feel ok, albeit im tired but id like to try and work as long as i can.

i think the babys head has engaged. last night i got terrible pressure pains down there, and today i just feel as though something really heavy is sitting on my foof? does that sound like it to you guys?

I think I can tell my work the end of the week.. really dont know what to do, will be nice bringing OH to work and obviously us both getting paid would be great, but I am dying for a break :( but i need the money...!!

Sounds like the babys head has engaged, I could tell mine had straight away; it pushed down really low and hurts when I walk in my pelvis area. It also makes you walk a little diff, almost makes me waddle!! Lol.

Glad your mother is coming down Pigpen!! You need this sorted.

Smartie: I find that always happens around here where people just seem to abandon their babies, I get really angry when I am driving and people push the pushchair out into the road, why would you push your child out infront of a car?!?

Lydia; you really need to do something about your DH. My OH is a lazy so and so but I try my hardest to make sure he does stuff (although its v minimal, I am getting there slowely) I work fulltime and when I get home I spend at least 1 hour tidying up after him, he is unemployed. I did make him wash up, hoover, and dust yesterday just wish I didn't have to tell him and he would do it automatically

This sounds so familiar! It's as if only I can see the mess in the house until I point it out....

TNV: What is wrong with these men!?! For instance; about 3 weeks ago OH hung up 3 shirts and pairs of trousers on 2 curtain poles upstairs (no idea why!) and they have remained there, for the past 3 weeks. I went a bit mad yest and pulled them down, chucked hangers in his wardrobe and chucked clothes in laundry basket. Why he couldnt do that is beyond me!
