re antenatal classes, my hosptial do them for free, i think its 6 classes and each are 2 hours long i think. i thought every hospital did this for free? i dont thinks its very fair that some do and others dont and leave people having to go private for them!!

Has anyone else started doing one of those 'Baby Record Book' scrapbook type things?

I made sure that i bought all of the newspapers the day she was born (and the following days as well as technically that was what happened the day she was born!)

Actually, I rang Grandad from my hospital bed and made him go and get them! :)

Morning all (oh god just noticed its afternoon technically!)

Well I'm having a lovely day off today :) I lay in until 10am, had a cuppa and some biscuits, and thats been my day so far! Going to see Shrek later, looking forward to it, just hope I dont have to keep going out to the loo!

My OH is panicking about what we are guna do moneywise while I am off as he still cant find work, I just keep reassuring him saying at least we're both here for the baby. Does anyone have any idea how much tax credits we would get with me just getting basic maternity allowance and him JSA? I have tried an online calculator but I keep getting diff answers :p

Your day so far sounds lovely:D

I've just put your details(well my DOB and inaccurately guessed the rest) in the HMRC website with you working a 35 hour week(you're still classed as working even though on ML) and OH on JSA with no childcare for a 1 week old baby and I got it as £5986.89 from 7/7/10 til 5/4/2011 so not quite a full tax year:) LINKY here if it works so you can see the results:)

Antenatal situation is silly! I think everyone should be given the option and it shouldn't be dependent on where you live.

Tirana Thanks, thats made me feel better. :) I think I'm just getting into the stage of thinking about birthing options and I thought this might help a lot.

Anyways, enough of my ranting! :o I've got to go out at lunch and treat myself to a black skirt from Mothercare. I feel such a scruff turning up to work in literally 1 skirt and 2 pairs of trousers. I resent paying over the odds for something I'm only gonna wear for another two months, but there is nothing going in that description on eBay.
