we have around 5 names for each sex but they keep changing when we think of something stupid for them:D Plus we don't agree on anything so makes it a little tricky:o

Thats bum..where were the classes at?? The Royal(aka City) I've got my next midwife appointment a week on Monday so hopign to find out about them then:) How comes your OH wasn't allowed to go? I don't think I'd go if hubby couldn't come with:o

Its women only in Coalville. They don't do any nearer which is silly! Its still a good drive from me. The woman said there are no set dates, but need to ask MW at my 28 week apt next week and she'll confirm them. Stupid!

    [QUOTE

Just had a phonecall to say antenatal classes I booked for Sept are being cut from 4 x sessions to 1 x 1 hour session. Shocking! So dissapointed. May look at going private now as OH wasn't allowed to those sessions anyway :([/QUOTE]

I'm not putting down antenatal classes, but, they are not all they are cracked up to be (well in my area anyway!) Everything that we "learnt" was stuff that I already knew from the internet/my mum/other mums - they just confirmed what I already kind of knew! We learnt about different types of pain relief, positions to give birth in, types of birth, how birth can start and that is can last anything from 2 hours to 2 days... all stuff I sort of knew anyway!

I was going to go private as well, but left it too late to join our local NCT class so I don't know what they are like, but I'm glad I saved the money (more pink dresses for my princess!).

Please don't let me put you off, I just know that having a baby is an expensive business and IMHO, private classes maybe aren't worth it. I paid for breastfeeding classes before she was born and lo and behold when she turned up she just wouldn't take to it. Thankfully a kind midwife spent an hour teaching me how to do it (a week after we had been formula feeding her). Now I can't get her off the breast! Anyway, what I mean is that it is great to be prepared but I found when the big day come I just did what felt most comfortable for me and it an amazing feeling come over me that I just sort of knew what I had to do! :)

Thats stupid! Hopefully you'll get dates though, I'm surprised there's none closer to you though! I just assumed they were gonna be at the hospital coz that'd make sense to me...maybe I'm too sensible?:rotfl:

  • My MW hasn't mentioned any classes to me, and every time I go in I forgot to ask, so think it's a little late for me now to try and make any arrangements!

    Boo!

Think the names that people have mentioned so far have all been lovely... really really like Holly May.

Hope bubs stays put for you PP! You never know... might be a record!!
