hi everyone its been absolutely ages since I was on here last, at least a month!!!!! there's just too much to catch up on so I'm not going to even attempt to read back.....

have been on holiday to spain, we had a lovely relaxing time but it was just too hot for me and then I managed to get a tummy bug which lasted 6 days. i felt fine, no temperature or anything, just couldn't stay off the loo. got my test results back today and it turns out it was campylobacter. have seen midwife since and my blood pressure is very good 100/58 and heard the heartbeat. I knew the baby was fine as the little wriggler moves around non-stop.
just back from glastonbury, a totally different experience when you're sober but still had a fab time, just a bit jealous that I had to stand at the back for all of the bands but we still had an amazing time. i think it was made much easier by the fact that I insisted on my OH renting a motorhome this year, there was no way I was sleeping in a tent and my sister, her mates, bro-in-law and hubby were all incredibly protective of me and insisted on standing in a circle around me whilst we were in the crowds so that no-one walked into me, bless them. just a bit tired now, slept fine in the motorhome and then get home last night and the house was so hot me, hubby and the dog didn't sleep a wink.

had my 20 week scan before we went off to spain and all is well, we are team pink, and I'm so glad I found out the flavour. i truly wasn't bonding with the bump before and was getting quite concerned but since the scan I have really connected with her and at last feeling relaxed and finally enjoying this pregnancy.

anyway sorry for the mammoth post, hope everyone is doing well.

oh, can anyone point me in the direction of a comprehensive list of things that we need to get for baby. now that the travelling is done me and OH are going to start the baby shopping (haven't bought one single thing yet) and we have no clue where to start, thanks

Fingers crossed it all starts to speed up for you soon:) Have you not got a ball to bounce on? Or stomp up and down the stairs to get things going faster:D:D

Lazy spa it's called....just remembered the name:o It is nice once it's up but putting it up is a nightmare, it will suck up electric if you leave it on all the time but on the flip side if you turn it off when not using it, you have to remember to turn it on way in advance of using it so it can heat up again, it can't be left out after around October as it gets too cold at night so the rubber might perish, remembering to put in the chlorine granules etc is a ballache and yet another job thats left to me! but having said all that I love it:) especially now we have a parasol with privacy sides so our neighbours can't gawp at us(not that they will but we feel exposed a bit:o)
once we're a bit more sorted moneywise we're looking at buying a 2nd hand hottub from somewhere, the ones with solid sides and moulded so we can use it all year round:D God I hate my parents for having these things while I was still living at home:rotfl: Nothing quite like sitting in a hot tub, eating ice cream while it's snowing around you:D:D:Dbtw my parents aren't loaded or anything, just VERY careful with their money when they were younger and reaping the rewards now;):)

See KK if you have a boy now I'll be even more convinced this is a boy!!! Our cravings and the way we're carrying is so similar!

Oh thanks for the info :) I think we might try and save for one next year, and we have the same idea as you; to purchase a 2nd hand hot tub that will stay out all year eventually. My parents didn't have one but me and OH have always been very keen. He fitted one last year for a customer and has been very into them since. We could get away with the inflatable one where we live now, but if we went for an actualy hot tub we would need a bigger house with more space outside.

I am still pretty sure I am having a boy.. although a lady last week predicted a girl (dont know why but I take predictions VERY seriously :rotfl:) but it feels 'boyish' lol :rotfl:a warning though if you carry the same as me; my bump has expanded soo much in the past few weeks, I am still small I would say compared to people I have seen around here the same weeks as me but my bump seems very rounded and out there :rotfl:

I want a lazy spa its not fair lol.

My midwife gave birth in a spa pool she said it was the most relaxing experience ever and she has had 4 kids. I'm not sure how they managed with all the gunk and stuff i would have thought it would block the pump up.
I think there's a special liner and scoop you can get so the water(and anything the texture of water) gets filtered through that and the scoop is obviously for any floaters:eek: then I assume the midwife takes away the liner and contents as clincial waste?!?! Or maybe thats too sensible:p:D
I'm looking into waterbirths but at the hospital coz DH is refusing to allow me to have a homebirth:(.......he reckons I'll ruin our carpets:p:rotfl:

I now with my birth pool we have a little electric pump and initially we scoop out any debris that can be then pump the water down the drain and the liner then just gets thrown out i will have to ask if its classed as clinical waste or not i never thought about it before. I could always do a blue peter on my birth pool and just stick one of those spa bath mat thingies in the bottom lol ;-)

Confuzzled you may want to point out to him that your waters wont wait until you get into hospital they can go at any time hence carpet/bed or even his car may get a hammering anyways as for the rest of the gunk its nothing a shower curtain cant handle he has probably watched to many old films there they need hundreds of towels and buckets of boiling water hehe ;-)

Yay for team pink:j Glad you had a fab time at Glasto, oo did you hear about the woman who went and ended up going into labour there??? she was having her 1st baby and she must've been pretty confident in her abilities coz apparently she was back there the next day:eek: very impressive:rotfl:
I don't have a comprehensive list of what to get but I do have links to various posts on here re: labour bags etc that might help:)

Yep my DH is the same, as soon as he saw my parents permanent one he was like "We HAVE to have one of those" they tend to become his obsession for a few weeks every year! lol

I have the same feelings:) I'm calling it Mothers Intuition:p:D I'm small compared to friends when they were pg but then they all had girls, at the beginning my hips grew out a bit and now my belly has grown into them and is heading out front...still can't see it past my boobs though:( I'll just wait with anticipation to get huge:p I'm also slightly worried as I've only put on about 5lbs since being pg, scared the mw will shout at me at my next appointment:o

Dont worry about your weight Fuzz, I have gained 6lbs since my booking in appt in January. I had a lot of sickness though so my MW isn't worried. She even commented how my bump was neat due to my stomach muscles being so strong :) OH laughed at this! She said any future pregnancies my belly will just hang out! Lol.

Thats how I am....apart from the initial 1 inch expansion of hips, without seeing my stomach no one would know I'm pg:) You're adding weight to my theory it's a boy xmas:D

Its a relief knowing I'm not the only one who hasn't put on as much as I expected:) I've not had any sickness apart from 1st trimester nausea but I ate through that:p Must all be baby!

Well its official - my midwife is the devil

Went and saw her today , explained about the IV iron therapy, so my midwife helpfully re refered me back to the same woman who didn't listen to me in the first place about me not wanting it! So have to go and see her now on Thursday which IS my due date so cant imagine they will do anything now

Plus despite me telling my midwife I was in pain last night, had sore hips and am having shooting pains periodically through my coccyx she still got me on the couch then insisted on feeling my spine through my belly to the point I was gripping hold of the bed almost in tears! She wants to see me again on the 6th

The most helpful thing she said all afternoon besides talking to her trainee midwife about another midwife who has gone for another job, was that if I was in labour and was getting time able regular contractions was to get to the hospital in time so they could put a port in my hand for a fluid drip. No idea of blood levels because they haven't tested them again now despite me saying I was now on 600mg a day.

Although baby is now 3/5ths - am so tempted to go and get a bottle of caster oil!!!!

    upset and annoyed though
    Time to find me again

You might just be like me Fuzz and get bigger towards the end!! Do not like the idea of my belly hanging out with a 2nd pregnancy!

Xmas; your shape when expecting boys is also convincing me I am having a boy!!

Just eaten 2 vimto ice lollies and baby is hiccupping like mad!
