Fernlie --- I feel for you chick - I have another 6 days to go at the minute and they have already given me an appointment to go and discuss induction and have a sweep - on July 8th so not looking forward to it although they did say babe is 4/5ths engaged but apparently that differs between midwifes as to what they mean

some mean 4/5ths of the head is in the pelvis, others say they can still feel 4/5ths so I have no idea although I can feel her in my underneath if that makes sense when she wriggles - not nice and certainly not comfortable. My whole underneath is pretty tender too so hoping that's a good sign. No backache or period pain here - plenty fo wind though!

I was 9 days over with Ben before they induced me

    Major Labour vibes for you.

    Hi all

All well at the midwife, my urine was fine, BP higher than it has been in ages (which is good considering how low it has been) and she says I am measuring about 27 weeks (i am 26 weeks tomorrow) I think big babies run in DH's family.... :o Heartbeat was about 150 per minute and she said bubs probably flipped itself around the other night and that's why has been quieter since.

Also had my hair cut, took about 3 inches off and feels loads lighter and better. Then I treated myself to a frappucino in starbucks and got some of the reduced bits in Sainsburys. They didn't have everything but got some nighttime wash, top to toe wash, pack of 4 sainsbugs wipes (which we'll use in the bathroom if no good for bubs) and 2 big things of 300 cotton wool. Plus some infacol and teething water. Should've got some baby lotion as that's the one thing we don't have.

fuzz - well done on the ring sling - my friend who used to make and sell them is giving me one she has left from then, but says make sure someone shows you how to use it!

Picked up my bargains - can't believe my luck again! Lovely baby bath, top& tail bowl and bath seat for £5, and the Galt blow up baby ring for £5, plus she chucked in a playmat for nothing, lovely lady :) then the Angelcare monitor for £20 - just have to break it to DH that I've been spending cash again! (he thinks we don't need all this stuff but we def do (well, most of it!)...I'm just getting it cheap!) Cot is getting more and more full of stuff! :A

    Thanks for your vibes :)

sammy- think they say either 4/5 engaged, which is head in pelvis, or 4/5 palpable- which is they can still feel 4/5 of bubs, so only 1/5 engaged iyswim. Hope your engaged rather than palpable :D

I won't be selfish and I'll share my labour vibes with anyone that needs them, we really need some more babies on here :)

i tried mentioning that we will need to get the cot down from the roof soon as i need to measure it so that his mother can buy us some sheets for it. i would also then be able to put everything in there that i have bought ready and in turn put my clothes back in my wardrobe!

OH still not home so our trip to the beach this evening is looking unlikely. will make it sunday morning instead so that we can go round the market at the same time. only problem now is telling the little ones

    Lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

oh that has tickled me. :D

I can fully sympathise though - no smells here just plenty of wind - even Ben and the dog looked at me mortified earlier! :o

Owen has gotten to the point that when I fart in bed, I know hes awake because I normally get an 'oh Jesus again?' and he rolls over. :rotfl:

Although I think he has decided to pay me back tonight because he had 11 weetabixs for breakfast this morning (he's putting on weight, weight lifting and is out motor crossing all day) and he gets a funny tummy from weetabix/curry etc so god help!

She said 4/5ths engaged so fingers crossed but then decided to tell me second babies don't go right down until literally in labour but she has been 3/5ths before and popped back out but she is most definitely head down.

Labour vibes to Fernlie and anyone else who wants them!!

Dreambirdie - I'm allowed eye drops so if you have itchy eyes with your hayfever speak to your doctor to get a prescription. Also I use the red light thingy, I think it makes a difference for me as I'd expect to be much worse on a day like today with no medication.

Sammy-Kaye - be careful with the liquorice. I did a quick google earlier and whilst it appears to be amazing for all sorts of ailments i read that it can raise blood pressure and there are warnings for pregnant women on the effects on the baby. Plus apparently the liquorice sweets don't often contain much actual liquorice.

I had my midwife appointment today, my blood pressure is low and i was told to drink more which i was very surprised at as I drink loads! I put it down to being quite early in the morning so not enough time to drink much plus the hot weather. But I don't like drinking too much in the evenings for obvious toilet trip related reasons!! Also its possible i may be slightly anaemic though have to wait for the blood results. But I treated myself to a steak for tea:D:D

Fernlie and Sammy, I think you both need some HUGE VIBES!

What sort of things are people packing in their bag for baby? I've done mine, but it seems to be 'lacking' if that makes sense. It has, 3 sleepsuits in slightly different sizes, 10 nappies (I'm sure hospital puts some in crib though), muslin cloth and, cotton wool. I'm not taking formula/ bottles, as I figure we live in a world of 24hr shopping, so if we do need any of that, someone can get us it.

If the birth is 'normal', they only keep you in for 6 hours anyway, so hopefully - even though I'm pooping myself at the idea of being kicked out - we won't actually need much.
