Sir monster- when you make up the moses basket could you just put a thick blanket under the sheet if you have one, then it will probably be a perfect fit. TBH, the one my moses basket came with has nearly a 1cm gap all the way round anyway, they aren't in them for long and once they get too wriggly it is safer for them to be out of them anyway!

Well, we just got a fantastic freebie :D DH mentioned last week that a lady he works with had said she had "a few" cloth nappies that we could have if we wanted them. He's just got home with 2 carrier bags stuffed with 20 Motherease nappies, 18 wraps in different sizes and a load of fleece liners :T So I think that has saved us a small fortune!

Only downside I can see with these is that they aren't recommended if you're expecting your child to be tall, which ours probably will be if it takes after me :o But that's not going to be a problem til later on when we are coming up to potty training anyway, so we'll still get plenty of use out of them.

I guess all I need now is a nappy bucket and some tea tree oil and I'm all set to go (oh, and a baby would be useful too :p) Where's a good place to get a nappy bucket from?

pigpen, your post did make me chuckle. Bet the MW doesn't come across Mums like you too often - but you'd think they'd appreciate that you've had enough practice to know what you want and what you don't want.

bigbird- my DD is really tall and skinny and the motherease fitted her perfectly, she never got off the tightest fastening though right up until potty training. That is a fantastic freebie, really MSE!!

Well done bigbird that's fab, I need to get some motherease wraps to go with my freebie nappies too.

Best prices I've found for nappy stuff have been http://www.cleangreennappy.co.uk/ who have a 20% off sale at present. i also put a wanted on netmums for a bucket and got a little one which I'll use for wipes but I want a nice big one for nappies too. Motherease wraps are meant to be one of the best.

Just showed DH the lovely clock and lightshade I got, he liked them which is good (in his usual way!). Hopefully my curtains from ebay will arrive this weekend too. Feel like its too early to really do the room but I'd still like to!

smartie- are you feeling any better? xx

I hated motherease wraps.. they left burn type marks round the childrens legs.. I used the popolini wraps which are almost the same shape but leak less, on my brood, and didn't mark their legs.

thankfully there are very few people quite like me.. :p

They don't care what people want, they just want to tick their little boxes.. and I am too much of a brat to play..

Really? ha ha, I found the exact opposite, but kid's are all different shapes anyway aren't they. I got brand new popolini wraps given to me but found they came up too big on DD, but the size down was too small and the leg cuffs were too baggy, but I loved my motherease.

It's all just trial and error unfortunately, use what you have been given for free and then if any probs arise look for an alternative. :D

Not just real nappies either the pampers vs huggies debate gets messy at times too (literally!) :D

I've got a few free tots bots wraps but have heard they aren't any good. Might buy just one each of motherease and popolinos and see how I get on as can easily order more (or do swapsies with bigbird!!)

We are pampers babies here.. straight out of huggies legs.. and usually up the back too!! I don't know what this one will be like... different dad to the others but he was a pampers baby by all accounts! I wore terry squares!
