Kitkat - There isnt a lot of baby shops in general at the Trafford Centre. There's John Lewis, Boots stocks them and a new M&P. HTH

Labour vibes to all those overdue. Try to enjoy it as it gets quite stressful !

    Hi everyone

Just reporting back from my midwife home visit yesterday. She came without the HB pack as she had my weeks down wrong, she thought I was 36wks and went into panic mode when she realised I am actually nearly 38wks!! So everything has been ordered for monday, entenox, vit k, soft pack, hospital notes and pethidine...I nearly got cross with her as I said I didn't want to have pethidine, but she was insisting I would want it, even though I never had it in my last two labours. She went ahead and ordered it anyway! She also kept asking me why she had come out to see me so late? How am I supposed to know, you stupid woman, you made the appt!! I just hope it isn't her who comes to attend the birth.

She did the regular appt stuff too and measured bump with was measuring undersize at 36wks, she said that was fine though...but I am so fed up of EVERYONE telling me how huuuge I am. How can they even tell just by looking at me, I am really dreading going back to do the school run from tuesday onwards as all the 'you still here' 'wow size of you!' comments will start in earnest, but if I don't go then the rumours will stasrt that I have had the baby and dh will get seriously p'd off with getting asked if my absence means baby has arrived? Don't know what to do

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday as we had a bad day. On the way back from the hospital (from physio which I always think is a waste of time) the car decided to begin messing about and looks like we may need to replace the automatic gearbox! then the rubbish midwife appt, then K fell down the step in the garden and banged his head on the patio, resulting in a big egg on his head. This also caused a big row between me and dh about who should have been watching him.....given the fact that he let K out, then in my opinion he should have been checking he was ok. I openly admit I am keeping him contained in the living room at the moment because I have not got the energy/speed to go chasing him around the house or garden..... inbetween all the rows/appts etc I had been trying to get the place tidied up a bit and had hoovered every room inc hall, stairs and landing, I had thoroughly cleaned the bathroom and toilet, done 3 wash loads and dried and put them away, cleaned the kitchen and done the dishwasher and sorted all the kids breakfasts/lunches/dinner etc...all I had asked dh to do was mow the back lawn, which I have been asking him to do for the last week or more, but he won't drag his lazy backside off the computer to do it.....I think I will do it today!

Sorry for mega post this early:)

    xx

    morning all

Didn't sleep great but I was determined to stay in the big bed with DH! I'm enjoying my usual saturday morning peace and quiet...with a bit of luck I'll have another hour of it! :D

Plans for today are not much, I need to go to asda to pick up my order of the cot quilt and blankets, hope I like them otherwise they'll be going back! DH says he is putting the cot up and doing some chores. We are due at friends at 5 for dinner then here for the footie afterwards.

If anyone's bought baby bits from Asda - they have recalled some of their baby sleepsuits and body suits - there was a list in the paper today of which ones were recalled.
    Thanks

    Thanks. There's a list here
I love that cheeky monkey fabric - you can get a better look at it here

    Glad your ok pigpen.

lots of labour vibes to Saz!

Does anyone know whether the Trafford centre has many pram shops? OH mentioned about going there to look, it's a couple of hours from us. I am sure it wouldn't be a wasted journey and I would find lots of other shops. Hope weather stays lovely tomorrow might pop along to the local car boot. Also going to get my hospital bag packed, just need some cheap nighties to go in it.

I've never noticed many TBH, but they have opened a M&P at the end of May. There's also a factory outlet in Stoke which is less than an hour from Manc, not sure which direction you're coming from though. We went to the big Babies R Us and Mothercare on the retail park in Manchester to look and they have loads that you can test (and there's M&P on the site not far from there)
    Mothercare/ Babies r US :
    Great Ancoats Street
    Manchester
    M4 6DL

And M&P : Manchester Fort Shopping Park
    Cheetham Hill Road

The other place looks a bit cheaper, but their pics aren't very good. I might do some Roman blinds for baby's room - I'm not too bad at sewing but as you say curtains are easy! I need to make some for our bedroom as well.

I was looking forward to w/e with OH but he was tired and went to bed at 7.30 last night, and then got up at 9 to play on the computer so humph! We're going to a wedding this afternoon and I can't be bothered ...

budget - I know what you mean. we are meant to be at a wedding in 2 weeks...I am not sure to be honest that I'm up to driving the 2.5-3 hours each way (dh doesn't drive) esp with my travel sickness which I seem to have developed. Am tempted to phone and say that as I've been ill we won't be able to make it...that way they have 2 weeks notice to fill the space (i remember how annoying it was when people dropped out at the last minute).

I checked and my one pack of asda sleepsuits are part of the recall! Typical. I am going to asda this morning anyway so can take them back at least. I will just get a refund as the plain white ones in Sainsburys are much cheaper and just as good quality i think!

Dh seems to quite like the fabric I like...looks like we'll need about 4m as its quite a large window so won't be super cheap but still.

This one isn't too far only half an hour (of course I'm designated driver!) but we have one when I'll be 8 months gone and it's a full mass - 3 hours drive then an hour and a half on a wooden church bench  I'm tempted not to go but it's OH's best friends so we have to really. I might just take a cushion!

Have you thought about a blind? That second site does kits so you just cut the pole to size and you'll use less fabric.

:j Woo Hoo - last day of work for me!!!!! :j

Mel, how annoying of your MW to be like that, like you say, she made the appointment! Here's hoping today is less carppy for you.

Does your memory ever come back after pregnancy? OH car was playing up at the supermarket yesterday, so he had to push it round to the petrol station and I had to steer - and I've totally forgotten how to drive! I haven't driven for 4 years (since living here), but prior to that, I had my licence since I was 16, so that's 10 years worth of driving, and I forgot about the handbrake!

Morning all just a quickie...have billions of things to be doing today and no energy so being on here is a huge distraction:p

Scan yesterday went well, bubs is very healthy and normal and measurements are spot on, although bubs' legs are measuring 21+5 at 19+5!!! Think i might be a tall 'un..thank god:D don't want it to be a shortie like me:o
Anyhoo, bubs wasn't playing ball when it came to pics BUT sonographer did manage to get 1 decent piccie which should be below:D:D its a cute one (IMO:o) and not at all demon like;):p:rotfl: Oh and was lying on its stomach hiding it's modesty and refusing to budge so even if wanted to know the sex it probably wouldn't have let us know..stubborn little get:p:D

Very cute scan pic Fuzz! Better to have long legs too, than short ones (saying that cos I've got little stumpy legs) Glad it all went well for you.
