Sorry to hear about your uncle Michelle.
ClareEmily; Its probably worth going to look at moses baskets, Toys r us and Mothercare are normally good places to buy them. Have to admit I wasn't sure whether to get one or not (bit lacking of space) but in the end my mum bought one from a car boot from someone she knew, think it cost £2 including a stand, I have since ordered a new mattress from Ebay for £5 and a nice reduced bedding set from Mothercare for about £10 that matches the cot bedding. Probably would have been easier to buy it all together!!0 -
Lovely bump pics ladies!!
Cafc: I have no idea wot to put on my birthing playlist, OH even bought me an ipod touch especially for my birthday so I could use it for labour!0 -
Anyone having a carrycot? I had one with the last pushchair so never bothered with a moses basket. I have posted before that i dont really like moses baskets after the handle snapped on my daughters whilst i was carrying her in it luckily i had the sense to carry it with my arm underneath but could have been a completely different story if i hadnt have been. Anyways now im wondering weather to get one for new babs as the carrycot is being sold with the puschair as it all comes as a set and im sure they are alot better these days ?:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Thanks DG - what have they said to you about it affecting your pregnancy, if anything at all? Have you had to have a cervical scan?
It was about 6 years ago that I had mine too.
tt
It's never been mentioned and tbh I never even thought of it. Have you had to have one? I'm back for a 28 week scan next week and to see the consultant so I think I'll bring it up:j30/7/10:j

Xmas; I can remember you posting about this previously, I think I will be very careful when carrying my moses basket with the baby in it, bet it must have been scary with the handle snapping. Surely they are better made these days? Maybe if you get one just check by pulling the handles abit to make sure they are secure, I need to check mine over actually but I think I will just support the bottom of it when carrying just incase (my god imagine if the handle snapped when carrying bubs downstairs, that would be horrible)0

Tigtag- congrats on engagement!
Michelle- Great news on your show. Sorry to hear your sad news about your uncle.
Went in to mothercare to buy a pram over the weekend, and ended up walking out without one as when I was in there it hit me how real it was to have a pram that baby will be here soon! I have decided I'm going to wait another few weeks before attempting to buy it again! Don't ask me how having a cotbed and clothes and everything else needed for baby doesn't make it real because OH asked me that and I couldn't answer!
A bit nervous about my homebirth idea (but will discuss it a bit more at my midwifes appointment next week) as noone I know has had one and I keep getting the "omg you're not actually considering that are you?" response whenever anyone asks me what I plan to do about giving birth. Keeps making me wonder if I'm doing the right thing for my first!:jHappily Married 12/09/09:j:jDS1 born 22/08/10 7lb 6oz:j

Sorry about your Uncle Michelle, re deaths and births my grandad died in March and is when my family found out about me being pregnant (10 weeks at the time) as at the wake afterwards I was on soft drinks which my sis and cousins clocked so had to fess up. In a way made it something for us to look forward to.

My friend has loaned us her Moses basket and I never even thought about that happening! That's quite a scary thought, and definitely won't be using the handles alone! Glad everything was ok in the end though xx:jHappily Married 12/09/09:j:jDS1 born 22/08/10 7lb 6oz:j
