I finally got showered and dressed at 3pm, nipped to the shop for a couple of bits to go with dinner. Spag bol now cooking nicely and I have cleaned the kitchen too.
Have had a brilliant email from my friend about slings, really helpful!
My cot is coming tomorrowfriend is bringing it at 12.15 and then I'm taking her out for lunch to say thanks. I have also emailed cousin's wife about change table hopefully they can help get it to us!
Have a slight dilemma now..DH's mum said the other day, 'let us know if there's anything you want us to buy for you for the baby'. I mentioned that the main things we still needed were carseat, mattress and monitor. I am now wondering whether to email them and say...'these are the things and these are the approx costs - take your pick' type thing, or not. I don't want to presume they will spend x amount but on the other hand I know them pretty well and think they would! I guess I could also put some smaller things on the list in case they were thinking less money (like a change mat, sheets etc?!)
since moving around and up and down in the kitchen I had real twingey pain v low down ...guessing it's just bubs kicking (getting a few kicks now, esp last night before I went to sleep)?Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Evening ladies
So tired this evening, woke up in the night so hot and this cold isn't helping.
Labour vibes for those who want them and stay put vibes for those who want them!!
CAFC you and bump look lovely.
Courgette, work sounds a right pain last thing you want to be worrying about!!
Welcome stargirl, this is my first but I was absolutely shattered yesterday after spending the afternoon with my nieces/nephews who were over 1 so good luck to you I'm sure you will adapt to the situation.
My BIL gave us lots of new baby stuff yesterday (moses basket, baby gym, bouncer and baby monitor) seeing all the stuff makes it seem so real kind of dawned on me baby will be here in just over 3 months (hopefully!!), was there a point when it suddenly dawned on any of you in a scary but exciting way (if that makes any sense!!).
Also bubs is very active today had a meeting at work and was distracted by looking at my belly moving!! :rotfl:Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Hi all, am 24 weeks today. Didn't go to work today as when I woke up had a real niggly pain - lower down on left side so was bit concerned but it has lessened and gone virtually so I am thinking its to do with the way I have slept. Also I did do a little too much on Friday possibly which probably didn't help. Need to get more pillows for support perhaps.
Anyway, work didn't sound best pleased when reported but too bad really. They will probably try getting me on a sickness review but I know they can't count pregnancy related sickness for that so will be telling them that it won't be happening if they try it.Back to work tomorrow so will see what happens.........
Best wishes to all and congrats to those who are newly PG and to those who are expecting their little bundle any day now...BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Sir M: I think it's just dawning on me now that the thing kicking all the inside of my belly is a real little person. I love getting the room ready, buying little clothes and arguing with OH over names but I think it's only just hitting me what hard work it's going to be! I am really excited though, but very nervous! I think left to my own devices I'll be fine it's just the pressure off the people around me that will make things harder. I know everything I do with the baby will be wrong in the MILs eyes but hopefully she'll keep her distance as she can't drive!0

You're right, they can't do anything if it's pregnancy related!
I'm 24 weeks too, and quite often get these. It's probably ligaments stretching, or as you say it could be the way you've slept. I know if I turn over too quickly in bed I feel like I've pulled a muscle under my bump so have to be careful.
Hope you feel better.Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
kitkat.. I dread to think what OH's mum will be like.. I am already doing everything wrong.. not eating the right stuff, not going to antenatal appointments refusing to see a consultant, refusing to go to the nearest drug den to have the baby.. sorry.. abertoire.. no... no.. hospital.. She has first grnadchild syndrome and I have BTDT, been round the block syndrome lol
I said to OH last night we really should choose a name or at least get a shortlist for when baby arrives.. I don't want to have 'Baby Noname' for the first few days again.. DS3 was almost a week old before he had a name.. then it came down to the toss of a coin lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Delain and Budget Blonde, I'm 25 weeks and suffering too but mine is worse when walking really was hurting walking up and down road to work, was in agony tonight. Thing is don't know it will hurt me until I start walking so I'm a bit stuffed as I'm already nearly at work. I think this is stretching too and is OK once I rest/sit down. Delain good luck with work. Seems like a bad day for pregnant ladies and work on this thread.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
