Fernliee I agree with SW obviously i cant say for certain but my afterpains with the last one were so much less than the other two and the only difference was i had been taking my RLT. I seemed to heal alot quicker as well which i put down to the arnica :-)

Xmas: with the arnica, when did you start taking it, is it pre birth or after the birth? And how much do you take? Thanks!

Thanks about the after pains, I have been taking my Raspberry Leaf Tea religiously, so hopefully they won't be too bad (eternal optimist that I am :D)

I swear that I healed so quickly after DD due to Arnica and Hypericum. Arnica is for bruising and tissue damage, you can start taking just before labour/ in early labour and continue to take for a few days. I normall take 2 pilules 3x a day, but ultimately you cannot overdose :D

The hypericum is another easily available remedy and is for healing of tears and wounds (so even good for C-sec) I healed so fast with DD, and my aunt recently had abdominal surgery which started to get infected. I nipped out and got these for her and when the nurse came out to pack it the next day she was astounded by the improvement. She also had 5 other nurses who commented on how fast she healed. I know many people doubt how effective it is, but it doesn't do any harm and if there is a teeny tiny chance of it working and you getting back to normal faster then IMO it is worth a try!

DH is home today with DD so I am lounging about not doing much! Ahhhh! Lovely! My friend who is a MW had a feel of bubs yesterday and apparently they are no longer back to back which is good- such a wriggle bum this bean! I'm still waiting for my scan date to come through for positioning/ growth, I am now 37 weeks so it should be at some point this week I would imagine.

Vibes to anyone who needs them!

    Morning ladies and bumps :D

Didn't get a great nights sleep last night due to DH puking up throughout the night after going out for a few too many drinks, didn't realise would have two kids to look after being sick :rotfl:Also had bad indigestion and bubs would start moving when DH stopped being sick!

Anyway have a day off as have a wedding which I'm hoping my indigestion calms down but will be taking some gaviscon with me. I think this may be the only time I miss drinking during the pregnancy.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Kitkat this is what i did :-)

    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
During labour 30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

You can get the 60C tablets which is what i have this time in which case just adjust the dosage to suit as Fernliee said i dont believe you can overdose on the stuff anyway :-)

Yeah xmas is right about how you should take it, but the thing that I never got is how do you know if you are going to go into labour in 3 days :) In the case of DD I would of been taking the remedy for 2.5 weeks with no symptoms and it would have been less effective once symptoms were present iyswim. But if you know when you are going to have bubs roughly, ie not your first and all have been on time, or C sec etc then makes sense to start before labour commences, otherwise just start as soon as you know things are kicking off. You can't overdose though, and it is also effective if you forget during labour and just take them after too as bruises tend to take a day or two to mature anyway!

All this talk of bruises etc is making me wince and cross my legs! Eeeep!

For those not on FB crappy mobile pics of bump at 24 weeks:D Will get DH to take some decent ones with proper camera;)

I had a lovely night out BUT naughty giant bean decided to stick what I think was his bottom into my ribs and it blimin hurt!!:rotfl:

Will add arnica to my list. I'm so determined to have a great labour using hypnobirthing, water and I'm going to be taking what natural remedies I can:) I think I deserve a bit of good luck at the end of this pregnancy... but of course knowing my luck everything that can go wrong will!

I'll remember to get arnica too! What's the deal with RLT?

When are you meant to start drinking it and how much per day?

I think Evansangel posted this a while back and I saved it on my computer.:

Calcium in weeks before labour (started at 32 weeks) 1,000mg
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000 mg

Evening primrose oil 1-2 500mg from week 34 to week 37
    3-4 500mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week 38

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38
TOTAL = 6 boxes of 20 tea bags

Arnica Cream For application after birth decided on arnica tablets instead see doses below
    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
At onset of labour 30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses
    After labour 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after

I chose to take the RLT tablets and the tea, not because I didn't really like it, but with the heat I don't want to be drinking 3-4 hot drinks a day, I just couldn't fit them in! So I tend to have 1 cup of tea a day and then the tablets as well iyswim. I never bothered taking RLT with DD as I used to forget so I've been religiously taking them this time in the hope of a quicker easier labour :D

Thanks Xmas and Fernlie, I will defo add RTL and arnica to my list! Whats the calcium and EPO needed for? (sorry if I sound stupid!)

Saw my MW this morning, went better than last time. Took OH to meet her and it was good to get him involved but I was the only one there with my partner! MW said I am measuring perfect again :D baby is lying head down with spine under my ribs and legs on my left side, she said this is opposite to normal as babies tend to lie the other way around and said this is why I have been having problems sleeping on my left side, as the baby finds this uncomfortable!

Got an appointment with her in 4 weeks, and then the week after seeing my consultant. Then I think she is coming for a home visit (whatever that entails!!)
