The Calcium apparently helps with the pain not sure how but it seems to work also if you dont have enough calcium in your diet then the developing baby will rob your calcium from your bones leaving you defficiant and open to possible problems with oteoperosis later on.
The EPO helps everything to open up and expand and helps prepare the cervix for what it needs to do as it is a natural source of prostaglandins it is safe to take orally at 34wks but insertion is not recommended until 38wks as there is a chance it could trigger labour early:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Fernliee with the arnica i think its a case of listening to your body all of mine have come early but there are signs of when it is about to happen. In my case i had my show with the first two and was in labour 24hrs later with bubs there was no show but i was getting contractions on and off for about 3 days before i went into labour properly so i started mine when the contractions started I also got an ungodley urge to clean everything in site a few days before they arrived. I would say start 3 days before your due date if nothing happens then stop until you start getting some sort of sign that things will happen IE: Your show, mild contractions, Back ache or even if you are just nesting for england.
When i say nesting as well i dont mean just general cleaning i would want to do things like completely dismantle and clean the oven, empty all my cuboards and wash them out things that normally wouldnt bother you but for some reason just have to be done there and then. With my first i was painting the hallway the day before i went into labour i decided it had to be done and got quite upset about it OH went MAD at me when he got home and saw what i had been upto :-(:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Thanks Xmas!! Does EPO have to be inserted at 38 weeks? Sorry just dont think I could do that!!!0

Kitkat - its a nothing of a job but very messy when it disolves, you have to p rik it first with a pin. I had to wear a pad during the day as it comes out. IMO it isnt worth doing as my cervix wasnt softening at all and had to be ripped by the MW. This was because I was carrying a small baby and having 4 larger ones before.0

No it doesnt have to be inserted in fact i think i only did it a couple of times as SW said it gets very messy when it starts coming out but i did take it orally :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

I hate taking tablets
I had a little test drive of the baby jogger city mini at John lewis yesterday and we both felt that it was " the one ". Its very light not like my M&P pilko.
Ive seen a gorg navy polka dot pram with a red flower on in M&P and I really want it but its not a twin one
Son number 1 was 17 yesterday , It seems like yesterday since he was born!
Son 2 leaves school today and starts 6th form in Sept. ..all this is making me feel old. Thats what you get for being a young mum ! :rotfl:0 -
Suzy; I really like that M&P Pram you mentioned, its abit out of my budget but its gorgeous!
Right, I have ordered some of these tablets & tea! Ordered the arnica, EPO and RLT. I know if I dont do it now I will only be posting in a couple of weeks asking 'what do i need to take' lol. I dont mind popping pills but I bet I will hate the RLT!!! Not a tea person! The arnica seemed best price on boots so I have ordered them and will collect them in store. Plus you get advantage points! (of of course cashback) I just want to try something natural to go along with the hypnobirthing

With the RLT i used to put a drop of vimto in it to make it drinkable :-)
SW my sil has the baby jogger city mini and loves it :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Suzy - I didn't realise you had a 17yr old... I feel old enough and my eldest is going to be 10 this year!!
The Baby Jogger was a close top runner on our list too....along with the nipper 360 and the Mountain Buggy......We went for the Mountain Buggy, but I ordered it online as it was around £800 in the shop!!!
I have spent all morning down town and have pretty much everything I need. I do still need to find the steribottles as asda had none in, so might try boots or try back at Asda at a later date. But I did something naughty, I bought a pink car seat.... Well it was on offer so I couldn't refuse really....could I? I have put the receipt nice and safe so it can always be exchanged if need be, but it is sooo lovely and pretty:D
I am going to try ds3 in the boys room tonight, I now have the black out liners so will attach them later...I am dreading this, but it needs to be done.
Off for a little lie-down while LO is napping, I should get half an hour:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
