I just walked into the edge of our bannister (like the square post bit)...really hurt and went right into bump :( am really worried now as there was a red mark for a while and now haven't felt bubs move for a bit. I'm sure I'm being silly and just need to try some ice etc.

Rach, I fell off a horse in quite dramatic fashion at 8 months pg last time round, bubs went quiet for a bit then reverted to his normal gymnastics - they are well protected in there (not that I am advocating falling off horses, obviously). I shouldn't think the force of walking into a bannister will harm baby, although I bet it hurt you!
  • ouch rach that sounds sore! ive been walking/bumping into everything its like i forget the bump is in front of me! as chakani says they r well protected in there, but if youve any worries phone the midwife!

Rach that sounds painful! Just keep an eye on movements but as Dream and Chakani said babies have a lot of protection in there :) any concerns phone your MW.

How disappointing has my due date been.. Not a single twinge! Don't really know what I was expecting, maybe a fireworks display?! Lol.
  • aww kitkat i didnt realise today was D-day! on the plus side you know theres only a max number of days now until bubs is here. have they said how far over they will let you go? im due in 6 weeks but keep trying to tell myself its really 8 weeks as i will get too excited wen i get to my due date and be all let down if i dont go! are you doing any eviction stuff today? deffo dont like the sound of the popsicles lo!!!!

ouch Rach thats not nice, im sure baby is fine, as everyone said they are so protected, but If you are still worried go and get it checked, when i fell over i cried and worried for 24 hours and became a crazy emotional wreck before phoning midwife, she had me in within an hour to check. Its not worth the stress and worry if you can get it checked just for your own peace of mind.

Thanks Dream :) think I'm jus disappointed! I know I can have upto 2 weeks more but I think you always hope things will happen on your due date! I've got a sweep booked for next Sunday, and if nothing by the next Sunday it'll be induction at the big hosp (where I do not want to go as I'm hoping for local birth centre). I want my MW to be around when I go into labour (actually got a much better relationship with her now) and she's going away Friday for 2 months so I'm hoping for a baby this week :) plus I feel I've tried all eviction methods bar popsicles! I've cleaned the house non stop all through pregnancy and I really cannot be bothered anymore!

Everything is ready for baby, I have nothing left to wash/ read instructions for or set out. I've completed my child benefit/ tax credit/ sure start forms as much as I can without the babys details! Hosp bags and car seat have been in car for 3 weeks. And if one more person says 'enjoy the peace and quiet while you can' I think I will hurt them! Lol
  • lol its like when they say "get your sleep in now, before baby comes" as if you can store it up or something!! you sound completely sorted out! i have everything i need in but the stuff is everywhere i must get sorting although im kinda keeping it to the last minute in case like you i get bored, but i bet if i do that the baby will come early and il have nothing ready!!

I hope something happens for you soon kitkat there is nothing worse than being in labour somewhere you really dont want to be . Fingers crossed all your twinges and pains wont be in vain and you get the labour you want :-) xx

Couldnt be doing with man juice popcicles ewwww i can swallow but it has to be an instant thing or i would throw up.

OH keeps offering to fill the pool up for me so i can relax in it and to be honest i would love to but i really dont want to go near it yet incase it gets burst again like last time i could do without spending another £90 out for a new one i know chances are that that wouldnt happen but sods law tends to feature in my life quite alot so im not risking it :-( x

Lol at storing sleep Dream! I organised the babys stuff weeks ago like the bedding/ clothes etc and I have since re-organised it about 20 times! I keep re-folding stuff, changing where it's kept, re-arranging room, etc. Poor OH has to keep checking where everything is just incase! I've left my 'leaving hosp' clothes on the babys toy box so at least OH can get that for me... Should I ever make it to hospital! Lol. He keeps asking me if I wana DTD... Feel awful as I really don't feel upto it! He also keeps offering me other stuff to speed things up but I really don't want that either!

Thanks Xmas :) are birth pools really that easy to burst?! I think if I had a bigger house I would like to have got one to relax in :) the bath is carp as it doesn't cover my boobs or belly so I always get out quickly with being too cold!

I suppose I shouldn't keep moaning, think it's something like 95% of 1st pregnancies go overdue!
