Morning-gorgeous here at the mo,as yesterday, but it did cloud over later.I was going to go to the local retailpark for a nosey as I have only been out of the house so far this week to take the dog out,but have decided to stay home and have another NSD,do more spring cleaning, and curtain washing while they can dry outside.I can see the bottom of the washing baskets, which is a great novelty.I have also been trying to keep on top of the ironing.

It must be the week for dentists as we're going tomorrow, and I know Dh had a chunk came off a tooth after he ate some Thorntons toffee I got for his birthday :o Our dentist is near to where DH & DS2 are working at the mo,so instead of them bringing me all the way home, they can drop me off in town and I'll have a mooch before going home.

DS1s car has passed its MOT,but is also having a service, and could do with a bit more work really- DH is paying as Ds won't be paid from his new job for a while. He also wants to save up for a bond on a rented place - I think it prob does his head in to be back at home with us after years of living with ex girl, though he was grateful at the time.I've missed him this week, got used to him being around while he was out of work, but am glad he's getting his life back on track hopefully.

Elmwood chicken here for 3 of us for tea, turkey steak for DS2.
    Hope everyone is OK.x

    Morning peeps

woke up bright and early this morning expecting to see sun but my hopes were dashed :( Dull and very cold here today - the wind really bites.

I`ve done a bit of batch cooking and now have a very full fridge, made DH a huge chicken roast dinner for later so he can reheat that as its my first late shift of several today. My food is tupperwared up in the fridge to take with me later.

Kitchen is mostly sorted, i just need to wipe down the sides but that will wait until my next cuppa and then i can use whats left over from the kettle to scrub them down.

Houndies are fast asleep after their walk and all seems well with the world. Little black cat is fast asleep upstairs so its nice and peaceful. Think that i need to iron a shirt for w*rk but will check in a little while.

I`m going to treat myself to a quick browse before sorting through some receipts and then get ready for w*rk.

    Have a nice day everyone.

    Morning all,

jackieglasgow, Thanks for you wishes for ds. congrats on your 1000 post! Now go and do some housework! :D
stroppyjock, glad to hear your results were clear! :j
jc2703, try not to worry. I don't think things will ever go back to the way they were. Like your dh I grew up with it as a normal way of life and find it so refreshing that my children can't remember what it was like when they were small. I think attitudes have changed and the vast majority of us just want to live in peace. Don't let the minority get you down. :)
churchie, you need to learn to read your own writing!

I had a good start to the day with a very excited ten year old waking us very early because it was his birthday. I made 'birthday pancakes' because when the children were small we read the Topsy and Tim books (not sure if they're still around), and the mum made birthday pancakes…since then it's become a family tradition here that we always have 'birthday pancakes' for breakfast on birthdays. A tradition I regretted ever starting at 6am this morning. :(

Mr Pink and ds1 then set off early to the hospital for ds1's appointment with the nephrologist. Some of you will remember how ill he was a couple of years ago...I'm almost scared to even think it, but if things are good today then he may be given the all clear.

It's a gorgeous morning here so my plans for today are to spend some time in the garden and then do something fun with ds2 in the afternoon. No evening meal to make as he's requested a takeaway for tea. After that we might all take him for a game of crazy golf, weather permitting.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all

It's gone all cloudy and chilly here! :( So I don't mind being stuck in the office today.

jackieglasgow - that soup sounds yum
stoppyjock - glad it was good news!

I didn't sleep too well last night, my 15 (almost 16) year old cousin had been kicked out of her home by her stupid Dad (my uncle). At moment she is living with my nan but this is 20 miles away from her home/school/friends/bf so it's not ideal, plus it's a bit much for my nan to deal with ful time. She has GCSE's coming up and her stupid Dad has thrown out some of her GCSE coursework  She is a good kid but has never had much parental support and has had to practically bring up her 2 younger siblings as her mum works days and dad works nights. She has started rebellign by staying out past curfew and stealing small items, but this is for attention. I work with troubled 16-25 year olds and really don't want her ended up the way of some of my work kids. I don't know what to do to try help. I've offered to help her speak to school if she wants but so far have had no reply (sent facebook email as this is the only way I have to contact her as her Dad has taken her mobile off her). It's heartbreaking.

I'm off out for dinner tonight with the girls, and have some things to return to clothes shops so will do that after work.

No OS for me today :o

    Have a good day all
