A card on each place setting with a link to a photo website for uploading picture taken on the day for all those with digi cameras (we setup a photobucket account, and included the username and passwords - was a god send, particularly as our professional photos were disappointing, and facebook shrinks the pictures too much to get a decent print).

We too have organised this; a quick tip is to make up business cards on Vistaprint when they have one of their '250 free' offers on, just paying for postage...
(but being the selfconscious geek that I am, we aren't using a main photo sharing site but I've built my own for the occasion)

If you look at the 'rock my wedding' blog there's some great tips. I love the signs they've made for the photos, and theres some other ideas. Not all of them are mse, but some of them are. Tried to post a picture/link but it didn't work.

  • There are some great ideas on here - thanks girlies! i think me and OH are going to recreate a photo corner and get some props etc. We are having a disney theme through the day, so thinking about trying to get props which also relate to disney, a plastic apple, kiddies plastic clear shoe, etc. may just go for 'normal' fancy dress glasses etc. Def will recreate some signs for people to hold up!
Really like the thumb print tree too, some thing different isnt it.
I also like the wishing tree idea instead of a standard guest book.

We are setting up a wedding email address to put on our invites, and think the photobucket idea is great, i was considering different ways of asking poeple to send us pictures so this is now sorted! thankyou!!

We went to a wedding in Finland where some games were played during the wedding breakfast.

    1) Purchase two large wooden rolling pins. One each to Bride and Groom plus a permanent marker pen. In a fun race against each other - Bride collects a signature from all the male guests plus a kiss and Groom collects from all the ladies' plus a kiss. A lovely keepsake of the day which can be varnished at a later date.

    2) Mr and Mrs style quiz for Bride and Groom - all the questions are prepared beforehand - by collecting funny info or stories about the happy couplefrom the guests/family. This was charmingly embarrassing for the happy couple and prompted a lot of general hilarity.

    3) Depending on how your tables are arranged ( we were sat on long tables with 20 or so people per table) 4/5 gifts were placed at fairly regular gaps. A version of the Left/Right game was played (Google it!) but also included the word over. A story was prepared and each time the word 'left' was heard the gifts were passed to the left and when the word 'right' was heard the gifts were passed to the right and when the word 'over' was said the gifts were passed over the table to the person sat opposite. This was fun and involved everyone and proved to be a great ice breaker and made the wedding breakfast enjoyable rather than having to be endured.

Have a lovely day whatever you do.

Dunno why I am reading the wedding forum as I am not planning on getting married but spotted this and wanted to give a suggestion!

Def will recreate some signs for people to hold up!

At one of our works do's they had a photo booth type thing with a chalkboard and chalks so that people could write their own comments for photo's. It worked really well and we got some great photo's out of it

Chalkboards would be great actually, you'd get loads of speach bubble / thought bubble type messages. So much cooler than a guest book!!
  • MRSKETT could you pm with details of how you made bracelets for bridesmaids please- love this idea and the wine glass charms 2- fab ideas. Thanks for sharing!:j

Ive been looking at doing polaroids of everyone at the night do - but polaroid camera film is now pretty much non-existant.

Fear not - i have found the "polaroid pogo". Its a small printer (about the size of a camera by the looks of it) and you can bluetooth pictures to it and it prints out on sticker paper. It doesnt require ink as it uses zink paper..

So im going to have a guestbook and encourage people to take pics either on their phones and bluetooth it to the printer or by camera and connect via the cable. Then stick the pics in the guestbook and sign.

Apparently the print quality isnt amazingly great, but hopefully everyone will have fun printing goofy pictures and we'll have something good to look back at later.
