OK, another update with lots of major progress!

Survey was done this morning which has raised a few minor points. I need to spend around £1500 on fixing stuff on the house but the surveyor reckons I should absorb the cost rather than renegotiate the sale price as the owner loves the house and doesn't want to sell very much so any change of plan from me might screw the deal.

Despite this the surveyor says it's a tidy house with excellent re-sale potential and a good buy.

Saw my private solicitor and bankers today and I am now the proud owner of an interest free £100,000 overdraft! I won't be using anywhere near that but they wanted a simple figure to work with and that's what we settled on. Now have 2 months to pay it back

So tomorrow, I'll see the house and then an hour later exchange contracts. Nice to know all the major stuff, i.e. the money is sorted. Now I've just got to get on with paying it back.

Got another £4600 in yesterday so when that clears I'll shift that into my house again so again I won't use anywhere near my official overdraft limit. In fact, I have already asked that they reclaim some of the monies right away so I'm not tempted!!!

Wow! Buy a house, inherit a family! Lovely, got myself a hubbie and another sister out of this website - what a bargain!

So yesterday, saw the house and it's a lovely place. Really will suit sister and her family. Went to solicitor thereafter and signed all the papers so should have exchange on Monday as apparently other party's solicitor wasn't there on Friday afternoon.

Feels great to know it's all sorted and they move this Friday. Now I just need to pay back my "free" overdraft.

Am changing my psyche a bit at work which was to sell loads, now it's to sell a few projects but for larger values to ensure this overdraft is gone, gone, gone!

Thanks all for keeping me on track and motivated.

I'll post again with latest figures when the CHAPS payment goes out and my overdraft figure is calculated. It lessens every day!

Magical - I bet your sister is over the moon! Just being nosey, is she paying you back or paying you rent?
Good luck with gettting rid of the overdraft, will you do this again when you've paid this one off?
