Ta for the welcome - long-time lurker here, finally decided to join in the fun.0

Thanks for that, I don't post very often on the daily thread as everyone seems to have their in jokes but it's convinced me to post there more often!0

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

It's lovely to see so many new faces on the Old Style board, many as a result of Martin's "Thrifty Ways ..." book.
Some time back, moggins posted a lovely poem (sorry moggins, can you repost it, I can't find it?) Inspired, I also wrote one.
A New Year on OS, lots of new faces ... I thought I'd repost it, (even added a line or two)
Welcome to ALL our Old Styler’s
Oldies, newbies, (lurkers too) :hello:
If you’re after ‘Grannies’ hints and tips
This place is just for you!
If you thought that good ole vinegar
Was to spice up fish n chips
Then click on Save on cleaning…
And get cleaning with those tips!
If you feel it’s all too cliquey
(Or feel left out in the cold L )
Dive in and introduce yourself
Get posting! Do be bold!
If you need to know an answer
(Baking, cooking, gardening too)
Or some other “home” based topic
Then our Old Style’s here for you!
Check out the Indexed Collections
And the Mega Index too
But grab yourself a cuppa
So you can have a good look through!
If you want to chat about your OS day
Or ponder any excesses
The OS Daily Thread exists
To talk of our successes
Flylady’s Cleaning Challenge
May be more your cup of tea
To list your tasks, “To Do’s” of the day
And to make ‘home’ clutter free!
Domestic bills you’ll find may be reduced
(Gas, electric, telephone )
Or you can vent about bad service
If you feel it deserves a moan!
No matter what your reasons for coming
Whether Debt/Savings (or DIY!)
Martin’s supplied a variety of forums
Where your query/answer will apply.
If “fun and frolics” kind of banter
Is what brightens up your day
Pop to The Money Savers Arms
Share a joke; enjoy your stay.
For more ‘meaningful’ conversations
If that is more your style
Wander over to Discussion Time
For topics more  … versatile
If you feel you do not gel straight off
Feel ignored? (Or confidence waivers?)
Please remember Martin’s mantra
“Be nice to your fellow Money-Savers!”

Thanks for the welcome....... I've been posting and lurking on this site for a few months now. Have relocated and downsized my income so my natural OS instincts have been brought out even more.
Am now in my house which needs a lot of work doing to it which is a bit scarey as a 'young at heart' singleton. Very little income at the moment so having stocked up on groceries and household bits I need to knuckle down. Most of my belongings are staying packed until the damp proof course, floors and plastering is done. Four rooms to live in and the rest is full of boxes. I'll move from room to room as the work is done. Am also living with left over furniture from when the house was let out.
I have picked up loads of tips on here and can't wait to work my way through all of this new fangled cleaning stuff so I can get to my bottles of Stardrops!! Am tempted to bin it all but that wouldn't be very MS would it?
Oh yes........... have learnt all about coupons etc from here:T :T :T So thanks to everyone for that.
Trouble is I think I am becoming addicted to this site. How does everyone ration there time on here??0 -
