Peoples comment after my post i think were out of order.
the funny people who told me to check out the news etc and that there are far more important things going on in the world- need to understand that I wanted to post this, if you dont have a sensible view then dont post a reply.
there are many coments on this site that i think are strange eg get 20 nector points and save 3 pound on whatever, but i dont put a cocky reply on.
I think you need to look at yourself before posting stupid replies,it supposed to be a helpful site isnt it.0 -

urrrmmm...yes..primarily a money saving site so the examples you have quoted are quite in order! You have over reacted to the letter and the replies I feel. The Letter should have been issued to a Miss or Mrs - issued to you by mistake. The aftershave would be enjoyed by the man and his (female) partner. There is no sexuality innuendo or supposition - you are reading that into it. mmm... it really is no big deal and if you really really are so upset by it let Boots know...but they will all sit and chat about it like we have..wondering why it has upset you so much :rolleyes:I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -

if you don't want people to post opinions that disagree with your point of view, why are you posting on an open forum???????
i suggest you add to the end of your post please only reply if your going to agree with me.
and i wasn't being funny about checking out the news. i was absolutley serious. and if its not a sensible reply, what do you count as being a sensible reply, telling you to ask for compensation for them making a simple and no doubt honest mistake? that appears to be what you wanted people to tell you, from your comments.
ring boots, ask them to change your details so it won't happen again if its such a problem, but I can't see you can expect anything else.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0 -

Anyone any ideas on what I should do and what i should ask for.
But at the end of the day, you weren't after people's advice. Or at least not from people who disagreed with you.
The posters who pointed out that there are far more important things going on in the world DID have a serious and valid response which you have just dismissed without a thought. Likewise with the posters such as myself who raised an eyebrow at someone wanting compensation for the most trivial of complaints.DFW Nerd 0350 -

Recieved a letter today off Boots about an aftershave promotion. It is addressed to me a MR but the opening line reads
WE KNOW YOU LIKE TO TREAT YOUR MAN NOW AND AGAIN. HERES SOMETHING YOULL BOTH LOVE.
I just think this is out of order for them to send a letter addressed to me personally yet open the start of the letter like that, no one should presume someones sexuality.
Anyone any ideas on what I should do and what i should ask for.
It has really annoyed me!
I would demand a meeting with the CEO ,plus compensation to address your hurt feelings so he knows your a she for all future correspondence,
Then with the compensation ,book yourself a meeting with the priory etc for a reality check ......are you for real?“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.” Socrates

I get this all the time, as I have a male name and am female. I am also a structural engineer, and the number of times I have had to correct people is funny. My best one is that my National Insurance number was issued to MR XX YY ZZ. I had to take my passport into the DSS office in York to prove that I was female before they would change it.
I once took a call from site querying a detail on one of my drawings. After explaining that they would build it how I designed it, the comment came "just go ask your structural engineer love, I'm sure he'll say its OK". Cue very embarrssed silence when I replied "I am the structural engineer". That particular site agent can't do enough for me now!
On a serious note, I gave up being irriated by it about 15 years ago, just funny stories to tell down the pub. As a previous poster said, there are much worse things happening in the world.
