Fly Lady Challenge Take 2

OK, I failed with hoovering upstairs and the washing is slowed by the grotty weather. But I did get the breadmaker going again (and boy am I out of practice, eugh!), I cleaned the kitchen and made a nice curry from scratch for dinner.
Today I plan to re-clean the kitchen (like most folk on here, 10 mins after OH comes home it's back to square one), get the bathroom done and make a start on some curtains. Must get going - have to shower before Tesco man comes. Good luck everyone!0 -
Well done everyone! I cant get the hang of 'getting dresses to your shoes' before I do anything, I have always put on old grotty clothes, dont my housework then showered and dressed properly, so it seems strange, today I am GOING to try it! here goes off to get dressed to my shoes!!!
Good luck for Today everyone!!

Morning Flybabies! Need to check in before Moggins plants her size 6 on my bu*t (not sure if this word is allowed?!?).
Today:
1. 27 fling in living room - there must be 27 newspapers in there, so that'lll be easy!
2. Kitchen - clean oven and microwave, finish cleaning windows, wash floor, put away all "bits"
3. Ironing, and laundry generally.
With children off school, and long weekned camping trip to pack for, that's probably enough.
Will update later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Gotcha!!!
Come on, everyone up and at 'em!!
I'm stuck doing what I can downstairs with a dodgy foot cos DH has just got home from work and gone to bed. I accidently left the washing out on the line last night and it got soaked so that's slowed down the washing pile for today.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Ohmigawd, where is everybody???
This post hasn't been added to since 9 something this morning. Are you all at the pub????
Here in the nest of SnowyOwl the plan for today was to clean the "big bedroom". Well, I have done a wee bit...cleaned some icky horribly sticky stuff off the window frames. It got there because I had used packing tape to stick fabric over the windows in lieu of blinds and curtains. That was urmmm....two years ago! So the icky sticky stuff is off! I used WD40, it's fab - that's a tip I got from the Old Style board. Thank you Old Style board! The other bits of the bedroom are a bit shall we say lacking...I am rather tired. There was an impromptu party on the daily thread last night - I think I may possibly have filled the bottle bin on my own:o. Today I really am very tired! The bedroom isn't too bad though - just a few wee bits to put away. I'm going shopping for carpet at the weekend, so no point in getting too organised when it's all going to have to shift! (I have bare floor at the moment - not even nice floorboards but horrible big sheets of hardwood; in places there are stains where the builders chucked their teabags...yeuk!).
So tomorrow, I hope to hear lots of success stories about how you have managed to accomplish something of the flylady challenge. Believe me, I am not expecting miracles - we are all in a similar boat I think, and anything done will be better than nothing done!
Please please please share with everyone what you have done, it really helps to keep interest and motivation alive!!
Moggins...where are you Dearie? I hope you don't mind I nagged on your behalf, but you are so much better at it than me!

Snowy, I would have loved to have done some flylady today, but I had a wee problem with some wriggly white visitors (in my dustbin!!)
It was quite horrendous, and took forever to deal with! I really hope to get something done tomorrow, anything will be better than today!!

Good morning all.and the ironing pile is threatening an avalanche
Chipps - that is why I DON'T iron!! Well ok, maybe just a little bit, but I try and get clothes washed and hung on clothes line straight away to minimise creasing, then when I get them in, fold them straight away. Viola - much less ironing to doI iron maybe once a week, on good months it's once a fortnight, and then there isn't much to do!
Didn't get the boogie done last night - will probably leave that particular one till the weekend now.
Kitchen plans for this morning . . .
Clean oven - it's sprayed, just waiting to be wiped out.
Need to do a house-wide general clean up. I've not been too well the past few days and messy is the word for my house right now.
Snowy - sounds like you need to get to bed and get some sleep!!If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Ew churchmouse, I read about that problem you had. I would have put another couple of bags around the parcel too. Actually I had a similar problem at the weekend, so I know how utterly loathsome and stomach-turning it is to deal with. I think you are perfectly entitled to a Flylady Challenge free day. Sorry...Flylady Challenge, no pun or double entendre intended! (BTW the photo was quite old...:o).
DeniseNZ - you are a girl after my own heart! I too have a serious aversion to ironing, and find that my strategies - which are similar to yours - are very effective in minimising the ironing burden. There are very few things which I like to iron...the most odd is tea towels - they are so much nicer to use if they are ironed. I have a lot of them, so wash them and leave them, then iron them all at once one evening when I am really, really bored!
BTW Denise, how did you find MSE? I see you are in New Zealand!
Happy Home Blessing everyone!!

Do you know Snowy the significance of FLYlady challenge completely escaped me!!! Luckily I can laugh now, it's far enough behind me!!:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

I did do my general clean, but plead guilty to not doing the loft space. I did instead put a second coat of varnish on the porch, paint the front door, paint the kitchen window, some skirting boards and the bath panel, and a big butterfly on some spare fabric (boys wanted to join in). Had a nice break dead heading the sweet peas while the boys played in the garden. Spent a tedious evening ironing work clothes for us both, made much faster by the lovely steam press. Now takes me an hour every three weeks.
Two indignant toddlers but a signifcantly better looking house. Limited supervision means it is back to a tip but nothing that a 15 minute run round now can't sort.
A good housewife, bad mummy sort of day yesterday, today I am off for a break at work. Tonight it is back to tackling the loft, unless I get sidetracked by more of the diy jobs........
