If Bill Gates gave you a blank cheque, how much would you make it out for?
- As much as I can - make me the world's richest person!
- A few million would do nicely, I don't want to appear greedy
- Just enough to pay off my mortgage, buy a nice holiday and treat my family a bit
- Just enough to get me out of debt, then I could start paying my own way with a clean sheet
- Nothing. I don't want any of his money!student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
Student100 - I would put as many "0"s as I could all over the cheque in the smallest writing possible! Rather me decide what to do with it than him!Torgwen..........

In light of the current demographic poll about the users of the site, how about another to deduce why people are here, (presuming it hasn't been done yet of course!) - Idea came from How much should I save? on the Funny Money board
What net percentage of your own (or maybe joint aswell if applicable) Gross (or net) pay goes where? (If you both save and pay debts, take the difference)- 100%+ on paying off debts (i.e. debts increasing sadly)
- 80%-100% on paying off debts
- 60%-85%
- 40%-60%
- 20%-40%
- ->20%
- 0% - Treading water - not saving, no debts
- ->20% savings
- 20%-40% towards savings
- 40%-60%
- 60%-80%
- 80%-100%
- 100%+ (You print your own money)
<edit>
Realised a separate thread would be better for this - stick any replies in How much do you save/pay off? to save cluttering up this thread
</edit>Conjugating the verb 'to be":

How about a poll looking at how people break down their savings (this came out of a discussion on the pensions board). Something like:
What percentage of the money you save goes into regular savings 'v' your pension?
- regular savings 40%, pension 60%
- regular saving 100%
- pension 100%
- some other options I can't be bothered to type right now...
Or, with Christmas coming up, how about:
How much have you saved up to spend on Christmas this year?
- £1500+
- £1000 - £1500
- £500 - £1000
- £100 - £500
- less than £100
- none
- I have just paid off my credit card from last year so I can max it out again this christmas
