Poll suggestion
Should the interest rates on credit products, such as credit cards, storecards, and loans, be capped by law some multiple of the Bank of England base rate?
1 - Yes, storecards at 32% APR are nothing short of usury and prey on those too poor to afford reasonable credit
2 - Yes, but the cap should be realistic because lending money is risky
3 - No, the market will limit APRs, but there should be a credit ombudsman you can appeal to if your rate is unfair
4 - No, I want those 0% balance transfers and somebody's got to pay for themThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Poll Suggestion
Every January we hear about what the average family spends on Christmas and how much debt they get into because of it so how about a poll to see what members here spend0 -
If they only had one choice, what would people spend their money on if they came into a windfall, like say, winning £100,000 or whatever....
For example:
a. A cruise/airtrip around the world
b. paying off debts
c. a new car
d. invest it to earn more
e. put it in the bank
f. sex, lots of it ;D
g. learn a new skill
f. spend it all, just for the heck of it
h gamble half (might get more!) and put rest in bank
i. hire a hitman to 'take out' your competition
j. start your own business
k. use to bribe Martin for 'insider tips' :P
It might be interesting to see where folks choose to put their money0 -
As you did a poll asking how much people planned to spend how about:
"Now that Christmas is over how much did you actually spend?"0 -
what do you expect the best performing asset class to be in 2004?
Property, cash, bonds, shares etc.
What will house prices do in 2004.
10%+ drop
5% - 10% drop
0% - 5% drop

How about a poll on whether anybody thinks the £2 surcharge imposed by the BPI on British and Irish consumers using CD-WOW is fair?
I suspect we would not see too many thinking it is a good thing.0 -
Asylum is definitely not a subject for MSE forums.0
