4 nails in tyre!

  • I think the previous owner used Eagle Tourings before (which is the brand of the spare) and changed it to Conti Sports on all four corners. I passed the MOT in Jan, so I dont have anything to worry about on that score.

Most cars with alloys have a standard steel wheel for the spare. Rolling radius is within a few mm, it'll be fine.

Not sure what is your tyre size but each puncture repair usually costs £10. So for 4 repairs, £40.

You can get good quality new tyre for £50-£100 (assumming you're not driving a tractor large SUVs).

    Definitely not worth repairing.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

I dont belieeeve it! Only went and got another nail in my tyre. Must be the world's worst or unluckiest driver, because on top of that I think I may have earned myself 6 penalty points in two days last week too.... Taxi!

3 houses in a row in my street (mine was the middle one) was targeted by little hooligans down the road a couple of years ago, for about a fortnight they crept into our driveways and place tacks/nails in front of the rear and front tyres. I'd been warned by both my neighbours after they had punctures in their tyres, so for ages, every morning I was out inspecting the drive for nails.

I have had a nail puncture in one tyre before, it was on the corner of the sidewall, had to have it replaced. To be honest, I wouldn't feel safe at all driving with a nail in my tyre.

What spiteful little brats! At least they didnt key your car!

Im not sure someone is doing it on purpose, they were doing building work in the office next to ours which is right where we have to park, so i think it might just be from there. Ive had the puncture fixed this morning, but will keep checking the tyres now just to be sure. Sooo annoying!

Take it from someone who ignored a warning about a nail in my tyre and went onto have a blow out on the motorway, which involved a full spin from the outside lane to the hard shoulder, it's not safe :o
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

I once owned a pug 306 that had slightly wider tyres fitted by previous owner than standard although an acceptable substitute.
These were always picking up punctures, and in between I would get constant stone chips on the windscreen.
Apart from these problems though,it was the most reliable car I ever owned. Finally traded it in with 220000 miles on the clock without it missing a beat .
