I've also just picked some this morning. I presume then that they are ok to keep for 1 year in the freezer? Thanks2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0

Ooh, I was out walking to the local shop this afternoon and took a detour onto the disused railway line (shimmied through the nettles at the edge of the fence ) on the way back. I just knew it would be blackberry country. There were masses! Not ready for picking yet but it didn't look as if many people had been down there so I shall be keeping a close eye on them over the next couple of weeks.Avoiding plastic, palm oil and Nestlé0

I used to love berry picking as a kid, can I ask what the rules are in the UK though...............I hate to be breaking some unwritten rule. If the berries are growing along the roadside are they there for everyone to pick?? Is there anywhere I shouldnt be picking.
We wont be picking anything for a while here yet, the blackberries are still small, green and hard.
The law states that you can pick anything growing wild, whether on private or public land, as long as it is not for commercial purposes. It is against the law to pick wild things with the intention of making a pie to sell at a local farmers market, however, it is legal to pick wild fruit with the intention of making a pie to feed the family.Cat :wave:0 -

Do you know what the law is regarding fruit trees where the branches are overhanging from private property to public footpaths etc? I noticed some apples and plums overhanging the other day which I wouldn't want to go to wasteFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

My daughter picked me a nice big bowl tonight, I blended them with a few strawbs I had in the fridge and some yellow sticker raspberries and made a lovely summer fruits ice cream for dessert :jAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
