Happy Birthday to Pink's and Mumto5's respective DS's.

But I'll claim my Wednesday STAR now, please.:D
I've had something of an upset today. Mr LW rang one of his friends to remind/inform him that it's my half-century next Tuesday, and it transpires that said friend and his wife have split up. I'm gobsmacked; I really thought that their marriage was rock-solid if anyone's was, and I'm panicking that this might be some sort of an omen.:( We last saw them at Mr LW's 60th birthday do last December, but we've been in contact with Mr LW's pal by email since then, and there has been no hint that anything was wrong, so it's got to be a very recent development. I think Mr LW is pretty shaken by the news, too.
A salutary lesson, imho, to keep relationships polished and sparkling, lest they fall into decay.
On which philosophical note, I shall belt up and go and find something useful to do.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Best laid plans and all that... I was working my way nicely through my list and DS2 was getting ready to go out with me, when the phone rang. The nice man who services our car told me that it wouldn't be ready before 12 - only he told me a good 10 minutes after I would have had to set off walking to get to the hairdresser's on time. Cue mad panic. DS1 offered to help out and I was only a few minutes late, but I didn't really get anything else done all afternoon. I also seem to be a lot more unfit than I thought, because all this walking has made me really tired and I'm only just coming round.
I'm going to start doing tea in a minute and I'll have a look at what's left from my list from this morning. I thought I could get on with school work tonight, but this bedroom really needs doing first. It doesn't help that it's so cold again. Makes me want to hibernate again. On a positive note, I love my haircut and the car is sorted again (apart from a broken dipstick, which the nice man will replace tomorrow). I also need to catch up on the last three pages of the thread. Will
do that later.
emptyTD and put WM on again.
hoover through downstairs
cook tea (corned beef hash with dumplings)
bully DS1 into finishing weekly paperround
putting clothes away
Not as bad as I thought, so I'd best get on with it. See you all later.0 -
Wednesday ~ Master Bedroom & Landing Done!!!:D:D:D
Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
One large bag dropped off at Oxfam, plus a selection of books to the Oxfam bookshop. I have removed three bags of photos from the bedroom to the livingroom, and put them in the large shelf basket I bought for the purpose - mmm, about a year ago:o. The bedroom was perfectly clear until I redecorated the living room, and there's a selection of stuff that remains homeless - not much helped by DD adding bags of unwanted clothes etc. I've listed quite a few things on freecycle as well today. I get loads of energy for decluttering when I have planning to do...;)
I have actually done some school work, but still need the reminder toots, thank you! I have sorted out one group's folders, but still need to grade them. I had run out of sticky labels though, so picked some up in town this afternoon.
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

wm on again, same stuff, but not clean
Decluttered more hassly stuff. Anyone want to know how much for a private Ed. Psych assessment? £325 :eek:Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
I am doing quite well at staying away from this site and as a result have done quite well on my word count. I got just under 800 words on Monday and 566 yesterday so broke yesterday's target. I have already done 285 words today so am half way to today's target. I also broke the 3,000 word barrier yesterday so am feeling a bit happier. the introduction is done and I am about a day away from finishing the first section. The rest should be easier as I think I have more notes whereas at the moment I am having to look things up as I go.
This is the only flying I can report in the form of decluttering words although I have done a HHE every day so I guess that is something. OH is being great preparing meals etc and keeping the cups of tea coming so I can keep going. There is a mountain of ironing waiting for me which I am desperately trying to ignore in the hope he will give in and at least do his stuff, we shall see.
If I keep up at this rate I should have reached my word count in about 12 days :j
Thanks for your support guys, I am looking forward to finishing and getting my house into some sort of order again.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

House is still presentable and am fairly close to being on top of school work so have booked in some me-time at the weekend in advance.
Have solved any issues with dd's bedroom and other bits of flying too cos she is going to work towards her Brownie Home skills badge
1. Clean two of the following:
*a window or mirror
*a basin or sink
*a cupboard or drawer
*a pair of shoes
*a car, inside or out.
2. Make your bed every day for a week. Tidy, dust and vacuum your bedroom.
3.
**Explain what clothes-care symbols mean.
**Show how you wash, dry and iron clothes.
**Describe the shaped colour-coded buttons used by blind or visually-impaired people. (anyone ever heard of this?)
4. Lay a table for a main meal. Wash up and clear away afterwards.
5. Make up a game or activity about recycling symbols on packaging. Discuss with the tester how you can improve recycling in your home.
Now that would be a good week in our house:rotfl:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
