I have just had a look at the lone parent needing help discussion and I think we might be frightening him. Talk of matching pegs etc!!! Couldn't he be led gently....to flying, valli?
    .
I never mentioned pegs over there :p
I merely commented that we were less daunting than the US flylady site (which is how I happened upon [STRIKE]you lot[/STRIKE] my lovely on line friends, actually) because I personally think that site is terrifying.
I also suggested incentives for helpful teenagers;) mainly because they work for me.
TBH I actually think that if he got level one under his belt for a few weeks then upped the level as he gets into the routine that would work well. We're always telling newbies level 1 is a good start - problem WE have is we like a natter :rotfl: and some of us let it interrupt our flying ;)
peg matching is more common than you'd think, though;)

    - we should have done it the other way round - work the first week then R&R the second...

    Evening all :)
I can honestly say I achieved virtually nothing today but I don't regret it - I had a lovely day out with my gorgeous husband to be and our two boys :) We had a lovely walk down the beach followed by chips and ending with an ice-cream :) Simple things but really enjoyed the day together :D
Will get back to it this week so please count me in and I will do my best :)
Thankyou for the comments Toots - I can't wait to marry him, he is the man of my dreams :) He is patient, loving and has the most fantastic sense of humour to go with it - I honestly feel like a lucky, lucky girl and I have been for the last 18 years :)
Glad tidings, love and blessings to all x
Happy flying this week ladies and gents :)

I operate on the principle that a clean bathroom and kitchen and a tidy lounge gives the impression of cleanliness!
the clean bathroom and kitchen are a doddle - whoever cooks doesnt wash up and whoever washes up does a wipe of the worktops, cooker top and taps. floor gets cleaned when feet stick to it. bathroom - you use it you clean it when it come to baths - its easy enough to rub with a bathroom sponge as the bath is emptying. sinks are best wiped over everyday by whoever is last in the bathroom (a good incentive for getting them up and ready for school) as dried on toothpaste is a buggger to get off.
rooms are childs responsibility at their ages. only intervene if the smell is wafting down the stairs or you no longer have clean crockery and cutlery.
clothes washing - for three of you its probably easier to shove one load a day in - that way you keep on top of it. if you do bedlinen etc at weekends you have time to do two loads.
the kids SHOULD be pitching in without bribery - but discuss with them first which are non-negotiable chores and which they can expect some payment for.
and when it comes to housekeeping hun, there ARE no stupid questions, and everyone works out the system which works for THEM. the secret is to have a routine and everyone pitches in.
bedlinen - you can either change all the bedlinen once a fortnight and wash it all together and remake the beds or - rotate the rooms and do two rooms one week and one room and towels the next.

Oh, I meant to ask - any news of Frodders - is she still stuck in Belfast?

Had a text from my sis this morning. Her and BiL were in Cyprus last week and due to come back friday. Apparently, they have managed to get as far as Croatia by this morning and were trying to get home from there by train

Froddy's on her way back - she was on a ferry this morning when I texted her and then she was travelling overnight on a coach to the capital to then travel home. She should be home tomorrow.

you operate after my own heart

if I am short of time I can do the bathroom/kitchen/and lounge to a reasonable standard in an hour - with floors mopped, too, and because my lounge is somewhat minimalist. And I use a bathroom sponge on the bath and basin too - quick wipe and they're done!

But the dining room develops hotspots all by itself :rotfl:
